I often buy cleansing wipes because they are useful for getting rid of all that grime when you just don't have time to get involved in that full beauty regime.
These were on special offer at Savers- buy the moisturiser and get these free, so really, it would have been rude not to, especially when Simple products are one of the brands I do tend to buy. Saying that, to buy the wipes on their own costs about £2.50 for 25, which works out at about 10p a wipe. This could be considered a tad steep, but I if you use them once a day, then it's nearly a month's supply for a clean face.
PRODUCT AND PACKAGING
The wipes come in a plastic packet, with a peel back resealable square, big enough to get the wipes out without ripping them to shreds.
The wipes themselves are moist without being overly wet, and about 20cm square. This may seema bit obsessive about the size, but sometimes I have bought wipes which are so big they could clean the whole family's faces. these, in contrast, are about the right size...not so big that there is wastage, and not so small that you need two or three to do the job.
The wipes have no real noticeable smell, which I suppose goes with the claim of Simple products that they are not perfumed.
THE PROMISE
This is always the test...does the product do what it says it will do.
These claim to be 100% perfume and colour free, with ingredients which care for even sensitive skin. So far so good, they aren't coloured, and have no distinguishable smell.
Using one wipe at a time, all you have to do is wipe gently over face eyes and neck and bingo, all clean! Apparantly, not only clean but toned and moisturised as well.
WHAT I THOUGHT
These, as with most facial wipes are great to take on holiday and for those times when you want a simple (ha!!) beauty regime. Using one wipe does actually remove general grime and does get rid of mascara, although I still think there are residues the next morning if an eye make up remover isn't used.
The wipes are cooling and gentle on the skin, but I don't think I would like to use them every day without moisturising; their cleaning capacity is greater than their moisturising, and I always use a separate moisturiser.
Because they are a good size, only one is needed at a time and there is no wastage. The only thing about wastage is that the seal which claims to be resealable loses its stickiness so I have to lie the packet upset down to prevent it opening and drying out the wipes
I tend to use them when we are away from home because then I don't have to carry bottles around with me, and I like to use them in the morning to wipe any night time grime off my face before applying moisturiser.
So, for gentle wipes which remove make up, and refresh your face without irritating skin and eyes, these are great. One thing, though, don't try flushing them down the toilet; it does state on the packet that they are not flushable and having tried it once, I can vouch for the fact that they flush away only after several flushes...not water friendly especially given the weather at the moment.
