Overall, I really like this face cleaner (sorry, 'cleanser'). It has nice packaging, it's a nice product, it cleanses well and doesn't dry out my skin. (My skin easily gets dry and flaky so it's important to find a product that doesn't cause these problems or make them worse.)

(I wanted to give it a 4½ star rating really but settled for 4 stars rather than 5.)

PACKAGING (5/5)
It was probably the packaging that attracted me to this product. It comes in a lovely, transparent, green tube with silver horizontal lines that break up the product name/details. It doesn't look cheap or tacky.

Also (and this is quite important), its flip-top lid is easy to open. There's nothing quite like breaking your nails in the shower trying to open the lid on an almost-impossible-to-open bottle/tube of whatever. No such problems with this! The lid is also made from nice, soft plastic — not the really brittle stuff that you sometimes break your nails on or nearly cut your finger with...

FRAGRANCE
It has no fragrance.

COLOUR AND CONSISTENCY (5/5)
The Wash Gel is a clear, colourless gel of just the right consistency - not too thick and not too runny.

HOW MUCH TO USE (5/5)
I only had to use a small amount of this - just a small blob, about 1cm in diameter.

FOAM-ABILITY (3/5)
This doesn't foam up very much at all (unless you use a lot of water). A few more bubbles might be nice.

CLEANING (5/5)
It felt nice on my skin - no burning, stinging or other nasty sensations! (Haven't got it in my eyes yet so can't comment on that.)

RINSE-ABILITY (4/5)
It takes longer than I would like to rinse this off. Although, the packaging doesn't say it's got moisturisers in, it feels like it has.

THE ACID TEST (4/5)
Usually, after I've washed my face I slap some moisturiser on straight away as my cheeks and forehead get very dry after washing. Today, I decided not to moisturise my face after using this cleaner to see what would happen!

When I had dried my skin it certainly felt smooth, clean and soft. A few minutes later I started to get that 'tight' feeling. But it didn't get too bad and, an hour later, I was very pleased to see that my skin hadn't dried out like it usually does (i.e. getting flaky)! I then put on some moisturiser (ah bliss!)

MANUFACTURER'S CLAIMS (2.5/5)
Well, let's face it, to keep up with the competition, manufacturers often make exaggerated or downright dishonest claims about their product - it's not enough these days to just say 'it cleanses'.The manufacturer (Accantia) claims that this cleaner "cleanses, refreshes and cools". So does it?

• CLEANS? Yes, it certainly cleans well enough!
• REFRESHES? Well, even water or lemonade would 'refresh' so I think this is a bit lame!
• COOLS? Hmmm! No evidence of this so far!
