Since I first began to use moisturiser as a young teenager, I have pretty much stuck to Simple products, since this brand (with the exception of some Lush items) is the only one guaranteed not to irritate my sensitive skin. The brand is marketed with the slogan, "Not perfumed, not coloured, just kind", and it is highly accurate. Simple products are designed to be gentle yet effective on the skin.
The products are packaged in white and green bottles and tubes, which makes the range distinctive on the shelf but can make it difficult to tell one individual product from another. This was how I came to pick up a bottle of Replenishing Rich Moisturiser instead of my usual Hydrating Light Moisturiser. Rather than waste my mistakenly purchased bottle, I decided to use it anyway although I was concerned that it might be too heavy for my combination skin. I only used it once a day though: at night at first, but now in the morning as I'm using a Lush serum at night. The moisturiser contains Vitamin B5 for healthy skin and UV filters to protect it from the sun and help prevent premature ageing. It is white in colour and has a faint scent which comes from the ingredients, since the product contains no perfume. The moisturiser is thicker than the Light Moisturiser, it isn't runny but it's not massively thick. It's ideal as a night cream, and might be too thick for daytime if you have oily or combination skin, although I've found that with the awful weather we've been having lately, my skin feels drier than usual and this moisturiser has really helped. It sinks into the skin well and provides a good base for foundation, powder and other makeup.
I was worried that this moisturiser would give me spots, but it hasn't at all. In fact it's been ideal for my skin during this cold snap. A purchase which was a mistake has turned out to be just what I needed. I do think this moisturiser would be a bit too much in the summer but in the cold winter it's just right, and I definitely recommend it.The moisturiser is widely available from Boots, Superdrug, discount stores such as Savers, and supermarkets. The normal price is £2.99 but it is often available on special offer.
