You can pick a 200ml tin up for roughly £3.50 at most chemists. It lasts for a good while as you only need a small amount (Don’t be fooled when you first dispense it; that tiny blob of gel will go very far). ... more
As most people who have read my other reviews probably already know I’ve got very sensitive skin (Poor ickle soul that me is). As such I tend to look for products that will help prevent irritation to my skin, especially when shaving.

Directions for use; Shake the can well and dispense a small amount onto you hand. Easy enough. The gel dispensed is clear/white and cool to the touch. Very smooth. The smell is a typical “Simple” smell. Clean and almost astringent but oddly pleasant.
Apply to the skin; massage well into the beard/skin. As you start to massage the gel in it changes to a foam like consistency, turning white.
What’s it like? Once on your skin it’s quite cooling and nice. Very light unlike some gels you sometimes use that can feel quite heavy and make you wonder if the razor will cope with it. Due to this being quite airy and light you get the feeling that you will get a clean shave.
First swipe; pleasant. The razor cuts through the foam easily and as the tin promises the stubble has indeed been softened. Second swipe; again clean and easy. As the shave goes on the feeling lasts and the whole thing is over and done with very quickly.
Even in the problem areas under the chin and along the top of the throat it’s a quick and clean shave. Very surprising. There are few gels/foams that can deal with these areas effectively.
Overall;
This is a nice shave which leaves me with little irritation or rash and certainly helps get the shave over and done with. I’ve found that I tend to nick myself less when I use this even when I rush though it. Normally I’m the type that needs a shave five minutes after leaving the bathroom, and while I’m not much better after using Simple I do seem to get a closer shave (Not sure if this is more of a placebo effect though).
