Simple include a range of products which are designed to be suitable for those with sensitive skins. They are DERMATOLOGIALLY TESTED and contain no aggravating ingredients such as alcohol. They are also not tested on animals or contain any animal derived ingredients so are SUITABLE FOR VEGANS.

What is Toner? Well the beauty industry states that for healthy and bright complexion you should clense, tone and moisturise everyday. Loads of my friends are always saying they havent really got a clue what toner does for your skin or why it is needed and many feel it is a con to convince you to buy a toner as part of a three step skin system. Well toner apparently removes the last traces of clenser from your skin. Some toners also help to tighten the pores and prepare the suface for the application of moisturiser. This can be achieved by using a splash of cold water or using some form of astringent such as rose water.
The Simple range Simple include a range of products which are designed to be suitable for those with sensitive skins. They are DERMATOLOGIALLY TESTED and contain no aggravating ingredients such as alcohol. They are also not tested on animals or contain any animal derived ingredients so are SUITABLE FOR VEGANS.
THE PRODUCT...
PACKAGING
The toner comes in a cylinderical green tinted plastic polypropene bottle which contains 200ml of product. A clear screw plastic cap is used to contain the toner. A clear sticker on the front of the bottle has been printed with all the relevant information.

It informs you that it will clarify (remove excess dirt) and refresh your skin (refresh!)
It contains "active ingredients", chamomile and witch hazel which are good for combination skin. It is not coloured or purfumed so again, good for sensitive skins.
Turning the bottle round, the back also has a clear sticker with more information for your reading pleasure.
We are told to use the soothing toner after using the simple cleansing regime to remove excess make up and cleanser.
Directions state to apply generously to a cotton wool pad and sweep in gentle upward movements over the skin, both morning and night.

This bottle is recycable which is of course good. The screw cap is relatively easy to deal with as you need to remove it so you can pour out the "generous" amount of toner.
PRODUCT The toner is very much like water with a few other ingredients thrown in. It is a clear liquid.
THE EXPERIENCE Unscewing the bottle, there is not immediate scent. Infact the toner doesnt really smell of anything in particular. Pressing a cotton wool pad on the top of the bottle i would up turn it and let some toner absorb into the pad. Then, using sweeping motions as directed on the bottle, swept the cotton wool over my face in an upwards motion letting the toner do its thing, whatever that is! It does feel fresh and cooling. Cant say i notice a significant tightening feeling or anything like that. It just feels like cold water. And thats it really. Nothing amazing.
THE EFFECTS Using this product did feel gentle on my skin and freshen up my face, espcially in the hot summer weather. However i didnt notice any other significant short term or long term effects. Its hard to fully review the effects as unlike a cleanser or moisturiser which have specific jobs and therefore are easy to determine how well they perform, a toner is just supposed to remove cleanser and tighten skin. This toner does manage to remove the last traces of cleanser and traces of make up whilst leaving the skin feeling comfortable. And so, it does what it says on the bottle. Other than that its not the most amazing product i have ever used. It doesnt excite me to what to buy more and i dont feel that without it i would be at a loss.
CONCLUSION - 7/10
Having used this toner every day for the past 6 weeks i cant say i have noticed an overall difference in my skin. Although when using it did freshen up my skin for the day. I would recommend this product for those with sensitive skins but personally, i think i will want to shop around for other skin toners. Today i bought the Boots botanics Rosemary Toner and will let you know how that one compares soon! This bottle will last 24 months from the day you open it. Since using it every day i am just coming to the end although i tended to use it only in the morning. I also didnt use a simple cleanser or moisturiser since i use other brands for these.
Basically nothing to get amazed over.

Having fallen in love with simple's light daily moisturiser I decided to try the travel size toner. Now bearing in mind I had never used a toner before (sorry to all those girls screaming!) I really love this product! I am now hooked and use it twice daily and I am disgusted that I didn't use toner before! For all of you who don't... you better start! For years thinking that after I had washed my face all the dirt was gone, imagine my disbelief when ... ...dirt that was STILL on my face! This leaves my face feeling sooooooo clean! I love it. It's also packed with great ingredients that are fabby for your skin, such as witchhazel, I've never been a spotty person but we all get the odd few and this really helps to sooth and combat breakouts. However my only problem is that I didn't notice any difference to the size of my pores, despite the packagin saying that it reduced pore size... I would recommend ...

I bought it from boots for 2.79 for a 200ml bottle.
You can buy it from various chemists and some supermarkets.
It is a green bottle with simple soothing toner on the front.
it has a screw on lid and it pours out through a small hole , like vinegar does for example.
it has no smell to it .

I did find this to be a good cleanser as it didn,t irratate my skin at all , like a lot of products do.

I use "simple soothing toner" and i have found it is very good for removing last traces of make-up after using "simple purifying cleansing lotion" Best results when using "simple replenishishing rich mosturiser" afterwards. There is also a light mosturiser available aswell.

It is the palest of pink in colour, in a paint shop it would be white with a hint of pink! It is creamy, but not to thick. There is a slight smell, not perfumed but a general cosmetic type smell, which is pleasant.
How to use

Following the instructions on the back of the bottle, I squirt two pumps of the cleanser, (it says a small amount), onto some cotton wool - or you can use your fingers and sweep it over your skin. Wipe or wash away with warm water and for best results follow with No 7 Soft and SoothedToner. Simple and quick to do.
