As I said above you need to be a member to view this section. The current deal is what is best to do with your maturing TESSA.

We all want to make whatever little money we have, work harder for us. If we can save tax in some way then that is a bonus. A visit to this website may allow you to achieve both these goals as well as providing a little bit of education.
The website loads very quickly and is very presentable, there are a few busy banners but on the whole not enough to distract you from the actual content of the site. Down the left hand side are the menus and these fall into various categories. <Home> Details on how to go about buying overseas property, employing a nanny, costing a wedding, careers advice and retail warranties can all be found here.
<Pensions> For me this section makes this site worthwhile since pensions are all Double Dutch to me ! Details about investing in personal pensions, information on stakeholder or state pensions, retiring and pensions for the low paid are under this heading.
<Health> Men’s health, organic foods, dentists, hair loss and laser surgery are a few of the gems listed here.
<Motoring> Car depreciation, warranties, insurance, driving lessons, importing cars and some FAQ’s are in this menu.
<Borrowing> Starting your own business, consolidating loans, store cards and fighting bankruptcy, credit scoring and overdraft information are available here.
<Holidays> Airline competition, frequent flyer schemes, insurance, re-selling time shares and travel gadgets can be located in this menu.
<Savings> Shares, investment clubs, ISA’s and the stock market are discussed here.
<Mortgages> Insurance cover, flexible mortgages, joint or endowment and mortgages for the over 50’s are discussed here.
<Explained> The site has teamed up with an internet financial specialist (so they say) to provide interactive material displayed in the form of a tutorial. You will need the Macromedia Flash 4 Player and you will then be able to watch mini tutorials about such things as “What is an ISA ?”. These are very informative and are explained very well using animation quite effectively. Certain tutorials require membership others don’t. __________________________________________________________________ This has turned into quite a long review but saying that there is quite a lot of information on the site. There are also links to say Men’s Health sites and the ability to join forums on certain topics. All the pages load very quickly and your interest is kept throughout (assuming you were interested in the first place !)
If you have money queries or just want some background knowledge this would be a very useful site to visit.
Advantages: Plain Language, Width of Subjects Covered Disadvantages: Need to be on Sky!
...Against this background, I like Simply Money. The presenters appear to have a vested interest in cutting through the jargon and are not afraid to ask searching questions on behalf of viewers. The beauty of TV as a medium is that if a guest doesn't know an answer or appears to be ducking an issue it's there for all to see!
The programme covers a wide range of topics and offers follow-up contact numbers and addresses where questions cannot be fully ...

Quick review of Simply Money
I made the mistake of setting up a debt management plan with a "debt advisor" company. Because I still had significant disposable income their primary concern was to extract their first payment from me in the full knowledge none of this payment was going to creditors. There was no justification for this charge (£1000) for setting up the plan. In addition I obtained some of the information for them to expedite the process and , after talking to Payplan, I realise they were shoddy and unprofessional in their preparation of my plan. If you are in serious debt please talk to the CCCS, Payplan or Debt Advice Trust because "you should not have to pay a shekel to deal with your creditors" ...

Advantages: Plenty if you own shares in the company Disadvantages: Debts go on an on and on and on.....ad infinitum
Are you so deeply in debt that the bills dropping through your door have been responsible for depletion of the ozone layer due to deforestation? Are your monthly outgoings not just more than your monthly income but next month's too? Don't worry because we can help. We can renegotiate with your creditors and reduce your monthly payments from 50 squillion pounds to just £155! Are we nice or what?
We've all seen the adverts by now. The sincere chap ... ...to take your call. One call and they do it all which is tempting to those burdened with debt. What the nice man on the telly fails to mention is that from the monthly payment of £155 made to the debt management company, a whopping fee is subtracted before any money goes to the creditors.
As companies like this become more prolific the horror stories are bound to mount up. Already there have been reports of missed payments to creditors and pressure ...

Reviews which might be of interest for "Simply Money"
This is essentially a cross between a consumer and a financial website. It backs up the content broadcast on the SimplyMoney television channel on Sky Digital.
The site is split into several categories including motoring, borrowing, saving, mortgages and insurance. The two that I find most useful are the 'Simply news' and 'Simply deals' section, both of which have actually saved me money over the last couple of months.
The two deals that caught my eye were the Cahoot credit card 5% cashback on balance transfers, and the summary of how to save by transferring gas and electric to another supplier.
The site is impartial, easy to navigate, and not as cluttered or complicated as other financial sites I've tried.
To access some of the content, you need to register with them - a process that is quick, and free.

Advantages: Polite Disadvantages: They simply don't know what they are doing.
The story is so long but please take my word for it, their telephone service is horrible!
They don't have a laid down guide on basic procedures and end up with different answers and different opinions. I spent about 33 minutes calling there 0845 number and spent another 43 minutes on the phone in a branch simply trying to transfer money
from an account.
The guys just don't know what to do. Actually, they think they know what to do but I guarantee you this, if you speak to three customer service guys, they will identify three different problems, give you different suggestions on what to do and how to resolve it, and each of them will politely apologise for the wrong information the others have given you.
They all need to be trained, from their telephone bank manager ( because I spoke to one) to the customer service guys ...

Advantages: Easy to use Disadvantages: not very 'in-depth'
SimplyMoney.net is the online presence of a TV channel, apparently, with much of the website material linking with recent programme features.
Many of the articles and features seem to be watered down and overly condensed versions of the on-air programme, with too little detail to be of much use.
More helpful are the deals of the day, where a recent deal or special offer is showcased. While some of the deals are genuinely helpful, too often they feel just like an advert for that product. Some attempt is made to compare with rival offerings, but the endorsement of the product sounds just too much like the suppliers blurb in places.
Call me an old cynic, but I tend to take the deals with a pinch of salt, but they are still useful anyway, as a starting point to my own research. The ideas are definitely there, but check them out ...
