After playing this game constantly for a week, I've come to the conclusion that this is one game that you either love or hate. Or you could do both simutaneously in a viscious circle.

I never really liked the look of Simpsons Road Rage, but when Hit and Run came out I thought I'd give it ago. It starts each mission witha newspaper headlined with something to do with your mission, and then you usually have to talk to someone, and the story will unfold. Then you'll be sent here there and everywhere until the mission is complete.

For some missions you'll need certain vechicles for example Homers Plow King, which you'll need to buy with the gold coins you collect and find when you randomly smash the scenery up. You can also buy different clothes for the figures, why? I dont know, but it makes it a little more amusing. You get to play using all the simpson characters as the story unfolds, but you start with Homer.

As well collecting coins there are also collectors cards that are hidden and mostly difficult to reach that the simpson clan must find and collect.

In addition to the missions there is also other interesting features to keep you entertained, for example, the street races. Find some one with a chequered flag above their head and the race is on, be careful when racing for the first few times, its better to lose the race and watch where the other driver heads then to zoom off, because unless you know the track and the shortcuts you probably wont win. Whenever you see krusty glass (sounds wierd but when you see it you'll understand) there is a shortcut, smash through the glass and drive till back on course! This glass is sometimes hard to spot though and can involve sharp turns and crashes that waste the time you would have saved!

There's also robot wasps that have to be killed throughout the game. Mr Burns is using them in his evil plan and the simpsons must destroy them all!

As you can tell there is a lot going on in this game, and not only does this keep things slightly interesting, it also makes it totally confusing and a complete muddle of what to do; you're half way through a mission, do you stop to kill the robot wasp, or collect the card?

This game is not for the hard core mission racers though, all those of you that love Grand Thief Auto, please stay away from this game, this is the point when you hate the simpsons, as it is all too simple and the graphics are not the best. The damage to the car gets annoying when you cant see where your going because of smoke and repairing your car is made far too easy in this game by just picking up one of very many spanner icons scattered around. One other thing that annoys me in this game, is when you stop a car in the middle of the road and you go to steal it, how comes you justt jump straight in and drive off, where's the driver gone? Vaporised? The missions are mainly repetitive, driving up and down the same streets to the same place can get really annoying.

Saying all that, as a light hearted time wasting game the simpsons gets a thumbs up from me. It seems worth the money and does keep you fairly entertained if only from the comments the characters make throughout. This is a game to play when you havent the energy to concentrate on anything worthwhile!
