The Simpsons: Hit & Run is a completely different type of game from the various other games that include America's favourite yellow family. This one has a story and feels like a lot more time has gone into it.

Something strange is happening in Springfield. Cameras that look like wasps are seen around the town, a new soft drink is making people crazy and there are mysterious black vans that seem to be spying on people. It's up to The Simpsons to save the day!

This game is set over 7 big levels around Springfield. In them you take control of a different character, even some outside of the Simpsons family, and take part in missions to find out what's going on and to put a stop to it! You can destroy the wasp cameras for money which you can then buy different outfits and cars from Simpsons episodes past, making this a great bit of nostalgia for fans.

The levels are GTA inspired so they're vast and include so many different places that you've seen or heard about on the TV show, it really is a mecca for die-hard fans. A personal favourite of mine is the 'Treehouse of Horror' stage where there are lots of zombies, witches and ghosts driving and walking around, all done in the great Simpsons tradition of the yearly Halloween episodes. You also meet loads of different characters, and as this was made in conjunction with the voice cast of the TV show, everyone's voice is as it should be. The story is also crafted by the writers so you get the same funny dialogue and wacky situations that The Simpsons find themselves in every week.

This game can be picked up very cheap as it's been out for a while now, so pick it up and have a laugh!
