Advantages: A good way to give up the uncontrollable urge to answer the Phone. Disadvantages: Not possible in 15 words.

Apparently Singlepoint were acquired by Vodafone a year or so ago, at the time i was on o2 network with singlepoint and desperately waiting for my contract period to come to an end. The same kind of desperation as when in a traffic jam on the M25 needing bladder relief.
I am now direct with Vodafone, or at least i think so, one thing i do know is that the monthly statement now says Vodafone. Also the number of incorrect calls on the bill has reduced to zero as have the annoying phone calls asking me to confirm my name and address before giving any further details other than the call was from Singlepoint. Oh yes, and now the bill is correct.
I first came into contact with Singlepoint a few years ago, i did this by entering a Phones 4U store and purchasing a phones 4U contract with Vodafone. Initially the bill came through with Phones 4U on the header, this changed after about 5 or 6 months to Singlepoint. This is when the problems started.
I received a call from a woman stating that she was from singlepoint and could i confirm my name and address. My answer was NO, if she was from singlepoint could she call me back on my home land line, after all they had that on record. She refused so i refused to talk to her further.
After all you do need to be careful of hoax callers and the criminal element that take advantage on people by making similar calls.
At this point a pattern started to emerge, i was regularly called, roughly every 3 weeks, different people each time but with the same statement, "This is Singlepoint could you confirm your name and address". My responses varied between such things as, "tell me what you think my address is and i'll confirm it" to " Give me your name and address and you can have mine".
The calls persisted.
At the end of the 12 month contract i cancelled and signed up for a new deal with Dial-a-phone. The cancelation was not as smooth as i had hoped, Singlepoint refused to acknowledge that i had cancelled in writing and continued to bill me, eventually a supervisor was put on to talk to me who understood what registered post means. He also understood what solicitors fees, court appearances and to my joy reimbursement also meant.
A satisfactory end to an irritation worse than laying in Nettles.
Alas No. My first bill came through from Dial-a-phone at at the top was the familiar word, SINGLEPOINT. Mt heart sank, when would i receive my next call asking for confirmation of my name and address? I didn't have to wait long, indeed it was that afternoon.
For the next few months the dance continued, the phone would ring with a no number, i would answer and the recurring questions and answers would begin. I took to not answering no number calls, a hassle as my wife's office, among others, also comes up as no number.
After 12 Months i again changed, to o2 rather than Vodafone, hahaa, i thought, escaped you now!! Again various legal threats were needed to be made before the contract was terminated.
Having settled back into answering the no number calls without fear of interrogation about my private details life was looking good, i was no longer afraid to pick up the phone and answer.
This time it only took a few weeks for them to find me.
I was in a management meeting waiting for a call to confirm some important information, more than likely it would be a no number, i answered the call stating to the managers that this was probably the information now.
"****ers" i thought, Paranoia struck, "they must be working with MI5 or perhaps the Americans". This passed rapidly due to not have delusions of being a spy when outside the bedroom.
A further 12 months passed with the phone pretty much unanswered, during this period my bill changed to Vodafone, a letter of cancelation was sent in and a few days later i received a call on my home number, "this is Vodafone, could you confirm that your mobile number is ******* and would you mind me asking why you have cancelled your contract.
A new approach i thought, perhaps they had rumbled me once again.
This time the explanation was that Singlepoint had been purchased by Vodafone, that there had been issues with a number of those accounts. They offered me a deal on a phone and contract which was similar to one i had just ordered on-line. Obviously i turned them down.
The next Bill came through with both accounts on it, I had arranged to have an overlap but this was a surprise. Subsequent bills were for the new number only.
I am now using my Phone with full confidence again even answering the no number calls and so far have been left alone with no sign of Singlepoint.
I just every now and again hear the Jaws music in my head when a no number comes up?

...you will have heard of Singlepoint unless you have a contract with Vodaphone, and only then, if Singlepoint happens to be your billing company. Vodaphone, unlike the other mobile phone companies use outside billing agencies – so when you take out a new contract with Vodaphone, you may not ever have any direct contact with them – don’t let this put you off, just be aware. I lost count of the number of times that I tried to contact them over a two week period - either the phones were engaged, or I would press my way through their very laborious touch tone phone system only to get cut off! I joined Singlepoint over a year ago now and signed up for a 12 month contract with them. Until now, I have had no problems with Singlepoint. I read many bad press reports about Singlepoint and their high charges and poor customer service but you can't always beleive what you read in the papers. Or can you? To my dismay, I found out that what the papers said was true. Read on and decide for yourself.
Recently, I decided I wanted to upgrade my phone ... ...keep my number and asked Singlepoint how to do this and was surprised when told I would be charged £40 to keep my number. Other providers make offers which allow you to keep your number for £20 AT MOST or even FREE! I told Singlepoint I wanted to terminate my contract and gave them 30 days written notice as required. I thought that was the end of the matter and I could go and choose a different phone in peace.

With the multitude of options available for mobile phone users it seems strange to me that quite a few, Singlepoint in particular, tend to get terrible press regarding their service. I can only speak from my own experience, which has been entirely hassle free and satisfactory.
I first signed up with them 3 years ago after realising ... ...as you go phone.
The tariff that I chose was 600 free off-peak calls to other Vodafone users and all landlines. Off peak being 19:00 – 08:00 Monday to Thursday and 19:00 – 08:00 Friday through to Monday morning. The normal cost for these calls being 2p per minute, which equates to 10 hours per month. Any unused portion is then rolled over for two months after which time it expires.
Unlike other users I have never experienced trouble ...

...are offering the tariffs and Singlepoint is simply your billing company. Unfortunately if you want a Vodafone tariff most of the time billing is dealt with through Singlepoint. Always check which company is doing your billing when signing up for a phone because Vodafone Connect also do billing and its better to go for them if you can.

I phoned up Singlepoint and asked to cancel my contract; they informed me that I would have to write a letter which I understand is standard procedure when wanting to cancel a phone contract. I got put off by the daily grind and was soon charged another month’s line rental, entirely my fault. I wrote the letter and sent it off thinking that would be that and things would be cancelled. Single Point are one of the most useless service providers I have ever heard of and I have heard lots of bad press on them.Some of the stuff they do is very unlawful
Not only do they offer disgusting customer services they also break the law.
I had a contract with Single Point for a year and I ended it as soon as the year was up. Because of the service I received I wanted to cancel early and pay the contract off, then I thought again and thought ... ...people off as it is.
One day I was at work and one of their customer service advisor called me trying to get me to upgrade my tarriff and telling me it would work out much better for me. Stupid me fell into the trap and accepted this new tarriff without even thinking about it as I was gulible enough to believe them.Ever since this day though I have not accepted anything I have been offered, so at least it taught me a lesson from it.
