There are many great tracks on this game to sing along to. The track list is: -

• ... ...you are in fact a Singstar or Tone Deaf.
The only thing i've found with it is if you don't sing in a tone that is very similar to that of the original artist you will be rated as a bad singer. For example The Rolling Stones, Paint it Black is sung in quite a deep tone but I can't seem to get that low tone and end up failing the song. As well as the above songs they have put together little medleys so you get a few minutes of each song to sing along with.
The game will rate you as you sing along. The bars on screen filll up with your voice and show you when you've hit a note too high or low and if you are singing it at the same vocal level as the original artist. At the end of each line, if you are quick enough, you will see a star flash up saying whether you were good or bad at that section. When the song is over you are shown the results of how well you performed and whether you are in fact a Singstar or Tone Deaf.

The actual mics are quite weighty and sturdy so I doubt they would be damaged easier, I guess this is for those drunk parties with your mates. It's easy to set up and you don't have all that waiting around loading time.
Most of the videos for the songs are the original artists videos which is good to see. Ones which aren't the original video are very well put together pieces of the groups history.
Overall I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes a bit of a singsong either as a single player or party mode.

...of an aversion to the Singstar games (hence why I usually play them on my own - poor me!) So, lubricated with alcohol we put the game on and set it to party mode. The game has several game modes; Solo where you can sing on your own or part of a duet, or you can play in Party mode. You can sing together and try to rack up as many points as you can, you can compete against each other to see who gets the most points. There is also a Pass-The-Mic mode ... ...day of last year I played it with my parents because my Mum had bought my Dad a PS2 and Guitar Hero (which he loves!). That was quite amusing.
I do love my Singstar games, and I want to buy more to add to the 3 I've got already. ...

...and comforting environment at home. Singstar Rocks is without doubt my favourite within the singstar series. I know almost all of the tunes included in the 30-strong line-up of cracking tracks, however, some great chances to include some real rock anthems are missed, for example, where the bloody hell are guns and roses, aerosmith and black sabbath? There isn't any new mode of play but singstar still proves a great hit at parties. Some other titles ... ...a great beat for which Singstar Rocks fits the description. The game is definitely challeging, more so than others such as popworld or party, and is why I think this game is great for battles between the guys who certainly rock the mic! This game offers the chance for a player to sing a solo, as a duet with a partner, or in a battle against an opponent. Choose from the range of 30 tracks in order to perform - karaoke style! Advantages: It's singstar! The best party game out there. Disadvantages: Some obscurish tracks
...you are unfamiliar with the Singstar series it is simply a karaoke style game for the PS2. You buy the game, get the microphones with it (you can buy it solus if you already have the mics from a previous game), plug the mics in and away you go. There's all sorts of gameplay involved, sing on your own, do duets, battle other people (there's game mode like medley mode, first past the post etc) and all the while Singstar marks you on your performance. ... ...honest here, I have every Singstar game. I can't sing to save myself. Me and the missus like the Friday embarrassment sessions. The rest of the street probably objects.
So on to the latest, Singstar Rocks. Possibly a misleading title as Gwen Stefani, rock? The Cardigans, rock? Where are AC/DC and other such heavy hitters. Singstar alternative? Perhaps more apt. The song listing is below and with every singstar I have my faves. Pretending I'm Kasabian ...

On the face of it a karaoke based game for the play station does not bode well but actually this has turned out to be not all bad and in fact quite a giggle specially when supported by a little bit of alcohol.
I had always ignored the previous versions as the music tended to be mostly cheesy pop tunes however encouraged by the rock version and the inclusion of some great bands like Nirvana and Keane I decided to take the plunge.
Basically the game ... ...favourite tune and in all there are about 30 video songs on the game so there is a decent amount of variety to keep you interested.
Coloured bars on the screen let you know how close you are to matching the pitch and tone of the artist and it is great fun as even the worst singer in the world can get to adapt their voice to score points and you can al so qualify for bonus points if you hit certain notes.
The only real downside to the game is that ...

...people have heard of the singstar franchise now, it's one of those things; you either don't have any versions or you have every single one - like me!
This version will probably appeal to a more niche market, but the inclusion of some questionable rock classics, is an attempt to broaden the market. For example, The Cardigans - My Favourite Game can hardly be compared to the extreme rock factor of songs like Come as you are - Nirvana.

As always, Singstar as come up with another great version. I will warn you though that some of these songs can be a little harder to master then some of the previous pop anthems. I often find myself resorting to improvisation, i.e. shouting the words in a rock styling!
Another must for all karaoke fans, the ultimate party game. Don't be rocking all night though, you'll be left with a very sore throat - I should know! ...

This is the best range of songs that i have found on one of these compilation. They are fun to sing and they are well known songs. This is one of the favourites when friends come round as everyone wants to sing the songs on the disc. They are also easier than some to sing meaning better scores and enjoyment can be had by all. Its not heavy metal rocking so its also good for the older members of the family aswell as the young. The sounds can annoy you as you know them well but can quite make the totally singstar so the enjoyment lasts a while with this game.
A must to add to the collection for when parties are happening and the drink is flowing this version of singstar will get the night rocking. ...
