A useless hub
Review of Sitecom USB 2.0 Pocket hub CN-032 - hub - 4 ports by  skuzzle

Advantages: Small, neat, 4 ports
Disadvantages: Useless

...The sitecom 4 port USB2.0 pocket hub... probably the most useless thing I have ever bought. As USB hubs go, this one looks pretty reasonable, was priced fairly and the box led me to believe it would do what I needed from a USB hub, which i the same thing I would expect all USB hubs to do. Well I couldn't have been more wrong. On first impression it seemed ok. I plugged it into my pc and then plugged my USB mouse into the hub. Not a problem... everything as it should be. So that was that. I'd bought the hub and I was happy with it. No for long though. The surprise came when I plugged in my USB jumpdrive. The drive would not work and neither would the mouse. This seems to be a common occurance with having more than 1 item plugged into the hub. Email communication with Sitecom was most interesting. I was told by them that in most cases... Read review

Wireless Networking In Education
Review of Sitecom Wireless Network adapter by  amandabeaton

Advantages: brings ICT into other lessons
Disadvantages: costs more than a wired network

...A school can quickly add wireless networking to their existing network infrastructure. One way is to organise a qualified company to do a site survey to measure how the radio signal strength varies through walls, fittings and furniture. The use of wireless networking can: - support use of laptops in all parts of a school - allow use of computers throughout a library - support sports training or athletics competitions - provide network access in heritage buildings - improve sharing or utilisation of computers (mobile location) - support dynamic class sizes or flexible teaching spaces - allow widespread network access in laptop for teacher programs - provide network access in large open areas such as halls or theatres - offer flexibility within science laboratories, art, D & T or other unique learning environments... My Sitecom 11M WL-013 - Wireless Access Point
Review of Sitecom Wireless Network Access Point 11M WL-013 by  rcandeias

Advantages: Very small - Good connection and signal - doesn't overheat - does the job
Disadvantages: Not sure how well it works with PCI wireless PC card

...My experience of this product is that it works quite well the reason why it doesn't go from good to excellent will be explained bellow. I have 2 PC's and 1 laptop I wanted the main PC to be hard-wired as that one is right next to the access hub and modem so no need to be wireless and anyway the main machine should always be hard-wired as no wireless can beat that. Then I have my son's laptop a Dell Inspiron 2200 which has already a wireless network card, and this machine runs perfect via the wireless access point anywhere in the house, and my house is a 3 storey house so plenty of range. However I did install a wireless PCI network card on the PC on 3rd level of the house and this connection was intermittent which meant going back to hard-wire there, now I cannot say for sure if this was a card problem or the access point problem or even...
