I think Channel 4 will have to set up one of those 'What will I do with myself now?'helplines.
Six Feet Under hit our screens earlier this year and kicked off with a series of eye catching trailers which had me hooked before the program had started.
Six Feet Under is based around an American funeral parlour, and the lives of the people who run it 'The Fishers'
Nate Fisher returns home after the death of his father to join his brother in the family business of funeral directors. Nate joins David his homosexual and often control freak brother.Ruth the self help group attending mother is coming to terms with Davids sexuality, and is hilarious. And then there is Claire the younger sister, who spends her time getting high.
As funeral directors Fishers and sons nochtly deal with the inevitabilty of death. They also deal with the everyday issues such as drugs, relationships and homosexuality. The writers deal with this in a funny but compassionate way.
Six Feet Under is nothing short of genious, brought to us by the same people who gave us American Beauty. It is well directed and superbly acted by the fantastic cast.Brenda (Rachel Griffiths) of Muriels Wedding is especially talented. She plays Nates girlfriend.Brenda is talented and gifted but her physcopathic brother just keeps getting her down.
