Advantages: Reasonable prices, good choice for all ages Disadvantages: Sizes aren't always the same, dependent on maker

Here's my original review:
That's what I love about the Size Up stores - there's always something to fit, and as their range covers sizes 14 - 32 and often beyond, you should be able to find something for yourself, whether you're having a fat day or a skinny day! Each store carries ... ...also go up to a size 34 (maybe even 36, I'm not sure) - how often do you get this size trouser (or any item of clothing) offered at such a reasonable price in a high street shop?
Size Up offer good value for money; the most expensive items I've seen in any store have been around £22, but compare that with the bigger High Street specialist stores and it's nothing - also, you don't end up looking the same as everyone else - who wants ... more

That's what I love about the Size Up stores - there's always something to fit, and as their range covers sizes 14 - 32 and often beyond, you should be able to find something for yourself, whether you're having a fat day or a skinny day! Each store carries a selection of clothing to cover all ages, be it a funky teenager looking for a cheeky slogan or a 50+ looking for something more demure.
Established in 1997, new stores are opening all over England, currently as far north as Leicestershire and Lincolnshire, although most appear to be in the South East area, and they have just set up a website with online ordering (www.sizeup.co.uk) with a free helpline 08000 856540 - the website has a useful list of store locations complete with telephone numbers - many stores open on a Sunday, so its useful to have a contact to check before you travel to save a wasted journey.
Most stores stock a multiple range of tops, skirts, trousers, denim, dresses, for daytime, office and evening wear - I've found from personal experience that individual stores differ with their stock dependent on the clientele, for example, the store in Saffron Walden or Billericay, Essex, would have a more 'up-market' theme than the store in Yarmouth.
I particularly like their new range of stretch trousers, which come in a variety of colours and several leg lengths at around £14 - at last, a company who has realised that not all larger ladies are 6' tall! The trousers also go up to a size 34 (maybe even 36, I'm not sure) - how often do you get this size trouser (or any item of clothing) offered at such a reasonable price in a high street shop?
Size Up offer good value for money; the most expensive items I've seen in any store have been around £22, but compare that with the bigger High Street specialist stores and it's nothing - also, you don't end up looking the same as everyone else - who wants to be an Evans Clone?! It's worth visiting on a regular basis, as stock can vary from one week to another due to popularity, and obviously the larger sizes which are harder to get hold of do disappear as soon as they are put on display.
The only downside I've found with the company is that their nightwear and underwear range is quite limited, but improving slowly. I also find that as they stock clothing by different manufacturers, its always a good idea to try on everything as sizes can vary. The changing rooms in the stores that I have visited so far are individual, with plenty of space - I do hate a cramped changing room, and each unit has a bell so that you can summon staff for help.
The company are open to comment and welcome feedback - I've sent a couple of constructive Emails to them and always received a prompt and friendly response.
I have to tell you about the excellent service I received recently at the Yarmouth store, which is located on the town centre market square near to Woolworths. I know this store is open on Sundays, so we made the 2 hour journey from Harlow to Yarmouth at the middle of March to see what their summer range was, as we were travelling to the Dominican Republic in mid-April and I was getting pretty desperate for strappy tops and summer skirts.
When we arrived I was devastated to find out that the summer range didn't come on to the shelves until the mid-end of April, but the manageress asked my size, then promptly disappeared. She returned about 5 minutes later, arms laden with goodies, explaining that these were the remainder of last year's sale stock, but I was welcome to have a look without obligation. Well, I stood there in amazement - EVERYTHING was marked up at £1, yes, 100 pennies, and it was ALL in my size!!!!!!!!! I left the store £20-something pounds lighter in my purse, but with the hugest grin on my face - I was also informed that if I gave the store a call a couple of days before I next intended to go there, they would hold back a selection of my size so I didn't have a wasted journey - now that is what I call customer service - Yarmouth store, you excelled yourselves that day!
So girls, just because we're larger than life, doesn't mean we have to pay over the top prices for fashion, style and comfort - try Size Up - I think you will be more than satisfied!
Advantages: Nice window displays, good layout, nice accesories Disadvantages: Staff are rude, the shop doesn't cate for every one
Although some of the clothes in miss selfridge are trashy, cheap and tarty I feel the biggest mistake this shop makes is not catering for larger sizes. Miss selfridge only goes up to a size 14 wheras there are other teenage shops that go up to at leat 16 or 18 such as Topshop or New Look. I think the people at miss selfridge should realise that the world doesn't reveolve around the supermodels of the world and start catering for the wider community. It should follow the example of places like top shop which is the worlds largest fasfion store. ...
Advantages: Cheap Disadvantages: Shopping conditions, quality of products, durability, staff
Primark have become the new Mcdonalds or Starbucks of the clothing world, they are popping up in every city, country and street corner available. Dont be tempted by their modern fitted shops and size. There stores are always staffed poorly by very unhelpful people. Shopping becomes more like a sharks feeding frenzy with clothes thrown around on the poor displays and people packed together in the narrow walkways between them. There clothes are also often poorly made hence why they are so cheap, after a small number of washed they will have lost their shape, shrunk, lost colour or bobbled up. This is only my opinion and everyone is entitled to their own but I intend to stear clear of the cheap clothing giant, as many people say you get what you pay for. ...
great when it comes to trousers as they have three different lengths and as im quite tall and with the high shoes that i wear i need a longer leg in jeans.
I also find that River Island have a great range of tops for going out in the evenings in a variety of colours you will always find one you love.
You will also find some great bargains when it comes to the sales, but you have to make sure that you get there early otherwise you miss out on all the great bargin and then have to sift through the last sales rack with tall the sizes all mixed up which is a nightmare when you are trying to bag a bargain.
As for the shop itself i have never had any problems personally and i think that the sales staff are very helpful. ...
