Having played The first skate game and loving it skate 2 was a must buy for me. I bought mine off ebay for £20 and was very pleased with what the game had to offer. Skate two was a big step u from the first game, The team woking on the game really turned it up a notch almost everything was improved. For me the flow of the game was the biggest improvement, the new san van environment was really realistic and flowed much better for skating around, the map was a virtual skaters heaven with loads of hidden areas for pulling off some immense tricks. The other improvements included the soundtrack of the game which really fitted for when you are cruising around, the graphics which is an obligation really (game graphics are improving all the time and skate 2 just followed the trend, really they were nothing special but still an improvement), the character customisation feature which made the player be able to really make their personality come out in their skater and with all the new range of skate clothing brands, hardware and decks its easy, although the controls haven't changed much i fell that the how the you pull off the tricks in skate are the most realistic skating controls in any skate game to date and finally the gameplay is better and the few new tricks make the game a lot more fun with the addition of the new tricks skaters can create their own style and can learn some cool new flips, grabs and grinds. I am also very fond of the online mode, with all the challenge modes like hall of meat and S.K.A.T.E its much easier to play with your friends and the new ranking card is very cool, letting players compete in online challenges and rank up their online skater rank to legend by winning gold, silver and bronze medals to gain XP.
As i said I bought this a while ago off ebay but you can pick it up for much cheaper in any shop these days though i would recommend CeX as it is only £12.00 at the moment. Overall i rate this game five stars as it has provided me with hours of fun its great to play solo or with friends either way you'll have a ton of laughs and a great time!
