***SKINNY COW RANGE*** Skinny Cow makes a large range of ice cream and desserts which are all low in fat. Their most popular items are the tubs of ice cream, which comes in a great range of flavours including Creamy Cookie, Cheeky Choc Brownie, Mint and other great flavours. They also do a great range of ice creams on sticks which come in Berry flavour, Triple chocolate, Toffee Honeycomb and Mint Double Choc flavour. As well as these yummy ice cream treats they also do hot chocolate as well, which comes in chocolate or mint flavour. These are available in 200g jars of 10g single sticks for one person.
***SKINNY COW SANDWICHES*** These yummy ice cream sandwiches come in a box of 6 which contains 3 vanilla and 3 chocolate flavoured sandwiches. This sandwich is delicious ice cream sandwiched between chocolatey biscuits. Each sandwich contains 101 calories and 2.8g of fat and is avaliable in all good supermarkets and can be found in the ice cream section.
***APPEARANCE*** I was surprised when taking this out of the packet how small they were. They are about the size of a chocolate digestive biscuit. You can see the biscuit’s on either side of the ice cream is quite thick, again probably the thickness of a normal biscuit. The biscuits are a dark brown colour and ice cream is a lighter colour than the biscuits.
***TASTE TEST – CHOCOLATE SANDWICH*** When licking the chocolate ice cream this was very chocolatey and tasted really creamy. The biscuit is soft but tastes very chocolatey and I thought it was very yummy. When biting into the whole sandwich I was quite surprised that the biscuit discs which make the sandwich were very soft and reminded me of biscuits which had been in the cupboard for too long and had gone dry. The whole combination of the soft biscuit and the ice cream was very satisfying though and tasted lovely together.
***TASTE TEST – VANILLA SANDWICH*** Obviously this sandwich is the same size as the chocolate sandwich but has vanilla ice cream in the centre of it instead of the chocolate. When biting into this I couldn’t really taste much of the vanilla ice cream. I could taste the chocolate biscuit more than anything else. The vanilla sandwich was still a really, yummy treat but I prefer the chocolate one as I think it has more taste to it. I love vanilla ice cream and in no doubt is also my favourite flavour but I thought this ice cream was lacking the taste of that!
***PRICE/AVALIABILITY*** I can’t remember exactly how much these cost for a box of 6 but I remember that they were quite pricey and were over £2.00 for a box of these. I got mine from my local Sainsbury’s, but the skinny cow range is also available at Tesco, Asda, Morrisons and other good supermarkets.
***OTHER INFORMATION*** Skinny Cow also have a website which is www.skinnycow.co.uk on here you will find not only info about their products but you can enter competitions to win great prizes such as Storm sunglasses, Weekend Breaks, Champney treats and more. They also have some make up and beauty information on here as well and they have some music information on here as well. They also have FAQ’s section where you can submit your questions or read answers from other people’s questions.
***OVERALL OPINION*** These are small but yummy treats but I definitely prefer the chocolate flavours ones. I would recommend anyone to try them as they are very satisfying and are nice on a summer’s day. These don’t get messy as you simply hold the sandwich by the 2 biscuit discs on either side of the ice cream. I would also try the other products in the range as well.
Advantages: low calories, creamy, delicious, tastes like normal ice cream Disadvantages: none what so ever
with my crew, it wasn't long), we bought the cookie and cream flavour, and were in for just as nice surprise. Delicious vanilla ice cream with little biscuity cookie bits swirled inside, it was heaven on a stick. And only 89 calories! A god send gift. I have yet to try the very berry flavour, but by my reckoning, it will be just as luverly.
One box of skinnycow lollies costs £1.98 at Asda, a little expensive I hear you cry, but if you consider thats only approx 50p per lolly, and I would pay more if I bought one on its own...its worth it. I've also seen them in Morrisons and Tesco. Depending on what flavour you buy, the boxes are either pinky or brown or yellow, and have a cow pattern on them.
Skinnycow ice cream is also available in tubs and cones! It just gets better. And in the US - where they come from - they do sandwich ice creams ...
