Reliability
This Felicia is greatly improved ... ...Personally, i cannot comment on Skoda customer sevice, as i've never had to use them!
I can only hope they hav'nt followed in the footsteps of their brethern at VW and SEAT.
Security/Looks
My Felicia is an eye catching shade of purply blue:-).Its a pleasant car to look at, as opposed to stunning, but it does have those cool wee hubcaps.

Reliability This Felicia is greatly improved from the skoda's of old, and is a completely different animal to its predecessor (the Favorit). The 1.3 mpi engine is not overly stressed and is more than capable of long distance motorway runs.In the 9 months i've had the car it has been trouble free-no knocks, bangs, failures or anything!Only needed headlight adjustment to pass MOT!
It is also a relatively uncomplicated beast and easily serviceable by anyone with an hour to spare. The 1.3 Mpi is actually built and designed by Skoda, and is a very reliable and willing engine.
Safety The Felicia has a drivers airbag as standard, and has good brakes and steering. It also feels sturdy and well built, endowing the driver with a sense of security.
Spaciousness What can i say?Its HUGE inside!I had a New astra (04 plate), parked it beside the Felicia and they are the same size! this means that it is effectively a class size up on most of its competitors. Its quite comfortable with 5 on board, and with the rear seat out my brother can fit his drumkit in!
Comfort There is plenty of room front and back, and rear passengers have good leg and head room. The fit and finish of the interior is solid and practical as oppossed to super stylish. All controls and dials are easily viewed and reached (it has novel 'push button' lights). If you put the passenger seat right back, its possible to rest your legs on the dash(very nice on an 8hr motorway slog:-)
Handling This is possibly the only area that i feel the Felicia fails to be superb. ITs handling is surefooted and positive, although i feel it does suffer a touch from slightly soft springing.By this I mean that it can sometimes 'roll' when entering a corner spiritedly. It must be remembered that its a family/compact car,and not a boy-racer-mobile!
Customer Service Personally, i cannot comment on Skoda customer sevice, as i've never had to use them! I can only hope they hav'nt followed in the footsteps of their brethern at VW and SEAT.
Security/Looks My Felicia is an eye catching shade of purply blue:-).Its a pleasant car to look at, as opposed to stunning, but it does have those cool wee hubcaps. The Felicia has decent security features e.g immobiliser and although i would suggest with any car that you fit a Thatchcam Catagory 1 Alarm (improves security and reduces insurance premiums!)
Features/Fuel Consumption Again The Skoda is fairly well equipped for its low price (mine has Central locking, Sunroof, Airbag, rear wash/wipe).However, it does lack a few things i think should be present e.g passenger airbag, ABS and a CD player. Fuel consumption is excellent, I run the car regularly to Manchester from Glasgow and back and it happily returns 370 miles to a tank (£30)at 80mph (sorry officer!) which is 43mpg.
I can hear the snickering at the back! Yes i own one, and it does come with rear heated windscreen, but as mine has been breakdown free i have had no reason to get out and push. This is the third car that I've owned since passing my test a little over a year ago, and it has yet to let me down. Although of course it is due for it's MoT next month. Having read another review and it's only failing was an adjustment to the headlamps, i live and hope.
... ...say that it is not the nicest of cars to look at, I've seen worse and having grown up hearing all the jokes about the brand i was sceptical about being seen driving one. Not the type of car to be seen in when cruising for the ladies! Yet i can say that sitting inside it looks OK, although the inside is basic with no mod cons, and has the grey plastic interior, it suits my needs.
The inside is spacious enough for 4 adults to sit comfortably, and ...

...double the value of a Skoda ?. Answer: "You fill the petrol tank up "! In those days cars produced by companies behind the then "Iron Curtain" were something of a joke and
owners of such cheapies went through agonies from their mates.
However, as we all know the Czechs peacefully overthrew the yokes of Communism and the old Skoda company was taken over by the German giant Volkswagen. Result a vast improvement in the quality of the cars produced ... ...The Skoda Felicia is now a highly competitive car with a surprising number of virtues. OK its never going to win the competition for the best designed family car, neither is as sleek and trendy as some of the Italian jobs. What it is though is a comfortable family car with a reasonable fuel economy and a growing reputation for reliability. If you opt for convenience and reasonable comfort over a sporty look and at a price of just below 7,000 pounds ...

...is, wait for it……………
The Skoda Felicia.
Our car, a 1.3 International Group “N” car is the best Rally car that we have owned in 7 years of the sport. At a cost of £3600 (including a small package of spares) it has been well spent.
In the three events that we have done this year, it has let us down once! The problem: Third gear wanted to be part of the stage rather than part of the car!! Total cost to rectify: £75.00. Two years ago we ran a 4x4 ... ...this was in excess of £1000. The car has already paid for itself.
The performance has never been earth shattering, but the handling is second to none. This has been proved on all the events we have taken part in, putting in top times on quite a few stages, often giving the “Big Boys” something to think about.

Advantages: All-round economic car, strong body, very safe for passengers Disadvantages: Interior a bit flimsy, seats not very comfortable, rear seat a bit cramped, expensive parts
...is what will make the Skoda a particularly attractive purchase. We bought in 1993 the estate version of this car, and have just now decided to change it. Let me tell you the good and bad points.
The Skoda has a good strong body and in the few small accidents we were in, it stood up very well with less damage than the other cars involved. This is a major consideration if you have children, as we do. So, the car is very safe for its passengers. However, ... ...good gas mileage on our Skoda and combined with the initial price of the car, we found it to be all-round economical. However, if you need repairs remember you'll be paying VW prices since Skoda's engines are made by them. These repairs can be pricy, so keep this in mind.
All in all, as our first car, we were very satisfied. ...

Advantages: Low Purchase value Disadvantages: poor finish, poor quality expensive parts, heavy steering, poor turning circle
...that was purchased purely because Skoda at that time were offering immediate availability, the Estelle was a basic but reliable car, it served the family well for many years before being passed on to a friend who drove it to Germany and back without a hitch. There was no local dealer here but customer services located a local "service agent" who was very helpful.
Sadly despite there being a dealer in the area the Felicia has not been the success ... ...Skoda Customer services, and the (former) franchise holder in this area, ther will not be a Third new Skoda entering service here.
The vehicle was sold as a new car, in fact they had to wait for a white one, which the dealer said he had collected from "up country" and driven back (hence the 250 miles on the clock of this new car...) but only when I was sorting out paperwork for my parents (having moved back to the area) I found that the V5 showed ...

Advantages: Tons of extras, competitive price Disadvantages: tight boot opening,
, a good 2700 kilometre ride from Budapest. There were two of us in the car, and on the first 2000 kilometres I was driving someone more cautiously (avoiding high rev, etc.) The back journey was somewhat more lenient. Fuel economy was similar to what I had expected from reviews of other owners. A quick and rough calculation showed that we had saved the money for 2 or 3 extra hotel nights in Spain by going there in the new car instead of the SkodaFelicia1.3 I changed from. Then we do not speak of the comfort and the speed :-)
The Toledo 1.9 TDi is by no means a fast sports car. It feels very well up to about 160-170 km/h, which is more than the legal limit in most of Europe.
Instead, the Toledo is a comfortable car which feels very well to drive, and you can get most of the extras at a price lower than most of the competition.
Mine is ...
