Sky Sports 1 - Speedway

I was a big fan of speedway during one of its boom periods - the 70s and early 80s. Every Saturday night (more or less) from 1978 to 1985 I'd be at Coventry Stadium to cheer on one of the countries leading teams, the Coventry Bees. I was lucky enough to see riders now considered legends of the sport - Ole Olsen, Ivan Mauger, Barry Briggs, Peter Collins, Michael Lee, Bruce Penhall, Hans Nielsen, Erik Gundersen to name but a few. Speedway, a great motorcycle sport that came to its pinicle during the 1960's, but it is racing back into popularity. Many old tracks closed down and now have house built where they were, but a lot also survived. The sport is going through a good period at present and it looks like the revival of Speedway is back with us, and here to stay. I got into speedway about 2 year back i was a big oxford cheetahs fan. Unfortunately since my little boy Lukas Andrew Mark Leigh was born a lot of stuff has changed. The oxford team is none of the members I know and love and they are now the silver machine. My little boy's names come from Lukas dryml, Mark Loram and Leigh adams. Sky sports covers the grand prix series and elite league matches. Unfortunately they do not show matches from the premier and conference leagues leaving the sport widely unknown.
