My experience with sky has been both good and bad. I had been with them since 2004 until May this year. I was paying £38 per month via direct debit from my bank account for the sports package. I had no problems with sports package, whenever I wanted watch live football it was great. The only thing that bugs me is that when you try and watch say something like the A-Team on UK Gold, the picture stutters and often freezes mid sentence which is really annoying.
When I tried to leave in May because I was moving, well what a lot of stress. I canceled my direct debit two weeks before the next payment was due - now you would think that would be enough notice. I even rang them being a decent sort of human being. No, thirty days notice is what they required - no exceptions. They told me I would have to pay £30 and something which I did to cancel the account. However, it turns out that the same person who canceled my account on the same day reinstated it. So I ended up receiving bills from them until after spending about half an hour on the phone in August getting angry with them!
The other thing I don't like is they come up with all these special offers and do not contact existing customers would like to take advantage of them.
