The Skyduster Palm is one of the most popular street palms in America. it is fast growing, elegant, and given good drainage and shelter from the wind is cold hardy.
The Skyduster dislikes wet, humid conditions. If they are grown outside, be sure to give them really good drainage. As gardenplants, they are best left to the experienced palm growers, they do however make great plants for brightly lit conservatories, or as tub plants on the patio in summer (Which should be brought indoors for the worst of our British winter weather).
If you do grow them indoors, make sure the air does not become too moist in winter as this will cause the leaf tips to go moldy.
Incidentally, you may sometime see multi-trunked Skydusters. These palms have only one trunk, dont be fooled. Those with additional trunks are really just several plants grown in a single pot for effect. These wont live to a ripe old age when grown this way, as the trunks tend to grow distorted when cramped.
So I would recommend that you buy single trunked plants.
They really are a lovely sight in summer, just like sitting under a palm tree in mauritius!

I think this op gives all the info you need without being waffly, though perhaps you could give a rough idea of how much you might expect to pay for one? Cheers!
