You've got to see it to believe it! A Menswear Store that actually does what it says.
Slaters Menswear started as a small tailors store in Glasgow, who had a reputation for sourcing the best quality of clothing at the keenest of prices. They offered quality at affordable prices. They grew into teh biggest Menswear store in the world and gained recognition in the Guiness Book of Records, which was no mean feat.
In the past few years they have began an expansion programme, with stores in Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Ayr, Newcastle and Leeds. I believe they are intending to carry on this expansion further south in the near future.
Slaters are quite unique in the service they give to their customers, for a start, the Salesmen/women are not on commission, therefore are interested only in supplying you with what you need. They offer a free alteration service which is one of the quickest I have ever witnessed, and this service covers all products regardless of price. As you know, some of us guys are not the best at co-ordinating shirts and ties etc. hence the reason they employ the ladyfolk, who better to tell us what we should wear.
For a range of products which I assume can only be matched by the biggest of Department Stores are second to none. They stock all the major names, YSL, Reebok, Levi, Ralph Lauren, Jasper Conran as well as a few not-so-well known lables. The can supply all sizes from the short to the tall and the big to the small. If you find a suit that you like, but not in your size, they will make it fit you.
Now the important part, pricing. Unbelievably good value, prices which I have yet seen to be beaten, even via the Internet. A few examples I can give are :- Ben Sherman Leather Jacket :- Debenhams Price -£235 Slaters Price -£135 YSL Denim Jeans Debenhams Price - £55 Slaters Price - £35 Jasper Conran Trousers John Lewis Price- £64 Slaters Price - £39
As you can see the savings as tremendous, and this is right across the range. I have neve known Slaters to have a sale , and it's been explained to me that it's because they can't go any lower than the prices they charge.
They also offer a Store Card, whith a very competitive rate, which beats Debenhams, Burtons and Marks and Spencers hands down. They also have special deals for members of HM Services and Police Forces. They run regular competitions for customers which results in a £500 shopping voucher every month.
If you are near to any of the Cities listed above, get along to them, you wouldn't believe how much a pleasure it is to actually shop there. If not, you can see the range of clothing and footwear on their website at http://www.slatermenswear.com/ and this will give you an idea of the product range. Even when browsing this site, the service is good, although as yet they do not sell on-line. If you write to them, you may even receive an e-mail reply from Paul Slater, current MD, which shows how much they value Customer Service.
As an update to the above, I have just found out that Slaters have now opened in Manchester, with a store almost as large as the Head Office in Glasgow, with even more exceptional offers than most of us are used too. Ben Sherman Leather Jackets are now in store at less than £150, almost £125 cheaper than Debenhams.

Advantages: Top class service, price quality and choice Disadvantages: None
It’s not often I come across a store that is a pleasure to shop in. It’s also equally not often that I find a menswear shop that has so much choice, caters solely for men and where the friendly sales assistants actually know what they are talking about. That is until I rediscovered Slater’s.
I first shopped there almost five years ago and even though I remember the sales assistants to be a little pushy, I did leave the shop having purchased a fine ... ...something right.
My second visit I am ashamed to say was five years later. For some reason I found no need to return to Slater’s and as such I had forgotten that the service was far from pushy, but courteous and knowledgeable. I had also forgotten one important factor for me… that the alteration service is free of charge. For a man of shorter stature I struggle to find clothing that I don’t need to grow into! Anything it seems is alterable… suits, ...

...:) I went over to Slaters (Stirling) and was extremely pleased, in reality astounded, at the sheer variety or range available and also the very competitively priced top quality clothing on display. I was instantly , after climbing the stairs to lose a couple of ounces :), greeted by a very well mannered, friendly and knowledgable member of staff. No pressure at all, simply helped me with the necessary measurements helped me narrow down my options. ... ...to end may I thank Slaters Menswear in Stirling for an extremely pleasurable and fruitful shopping expedition and I look forward to buying most of my clothes there in the future.

I'm getting married in May on the Beach in Mauritius & was just browsing around Slaters in Preston. I wasn't sure what I was after, but a very nice Sales Lady showed me a Suit that was light in Colour as well as being light-weight! (it was also in the Sale! Perfect!!)
It needed taking-out on the Waist & taking-up on the Legs, that was altered within an hour while I went for lunch!
I also needed a Shirt! That was also taken-up in the Sleeves & All done Free Of Charge.
I recommend Slaters 100% for Excellent Service, Selection, Price & Alterations.
All of the Staff are Very Friendly & go out of their way to help.

Advantages: Slaters Menswear (Shop) This shop in Glasgow does alterations on the spot and a suit can be collected in about an hour. Disadvantages: There are none that I could see,
The branch we have is in Howard Street past the Citizens Theatre and across the Clyde Bridge.
It is one of the best menswear shops in Glasgow, they sell kilts and sporrans, suits and sport jackets, They also sell shirts and ties and tee shirts
My son is very slim and that is where he got his wedding suit, shirt and tie. as the suit was too large for ,him they took it in and fitted him up for his size. while he was waiting he bought his wedding shoes.
... ...as my son walks with sticks it was no problem getting up to the floor he needed as they have a lift installed.
All the staff treated him like a gentleman which is a change.
This shop is one of the favourites of the young men getting married either in a suit or a kilt They have childrens kilts also which looks cute on a little boy. The best part of the service is the quick
refitting service they supply.
Some of the goods are expensive, but you ...
