I get cravings for chocolate, (especially around *that* time of the month), and so I thought I would try this to see if it would indeed satisfy those cravings.
The Slimfast Caramel bars are like squished Mars bars. ... ...lot smaller, a lot thinner and somehow more dense. They taste similar to a Mars bar but a lot sweeter, (which is saying something as I find Mars Bars sweet enough), and it is a strange sweetness that hangs around for ages after eating. As I have mentioned they are very dense which makes them very chewy and claggy in your mouth, inevitably coating the top of your mouth with goo.

The Slimfast Caramel bars are like squished Mars bars. They have nougat, caramel and chocolate but they are a lot smaller, a lot thinner and somehow more dense.
The bars go soft very quickly at room temperature but if you refrigerate them they go rock hard and are unbearably chewy so I don't really know where to store them to keep them at the right temperature.
The packaging is distinctively Slimfast being white and red and featuring the logo of the company. There is one of those helpful bars that tell you the amount of sugar, calories, fat etc on the front too.
Don't be fooled into thinking that low calorie means healthy, it really doesn't and these bars prove it as they contain only 99 calories but also 18.1g of Carbohydrates of which 13.6g is from Sugars and 3.2g of Fat with 1.8g of that being saturated. It may be better than a Mars Bar but it is fraction of the size, (26g), and for such a small bar it's actually a lot.
The 'chocolate' is actually chocolate coating too which as most of you will agree is a poor substitute for the real thing but who expects all the flavour of the real thing with only 99 calories?
All in all these aren't bad but they're not good either and at 38p each they don't represent good value in my opinion. I think I'll stick to the Heroes or Celebrations as a quick chocolaty fix, much smaller but so much more satisfying.
I've said I would recommend but it would depend on the circumstances and I would make my 'friend' aware of the points stated above.

Quick review of Slim Fast Bar
Slim fast products are usually quite bland or taste like powder such as their milkshakes. However the chocolate bar alternative that they have introduced is brilliant. I am a chocolate lover who usually hates healthy foods and their alternatives to chocolate. But slim fast have been able to pull it off and come up with a chocolate bar that is low in calories but high in taste. It tastes like any other normal chocolate bar, maybe even better then mars or snikers. I would never have been able to tell if it was a slim fast chocolate bar or not. The taste and texture is fanominal and i would have no problem eating slim fast chocolate to mars or snikers. ...

Advantages: Yummy Disadvantages: veeery chewy, can get stuck in the old molars...
I live off of these.
I have such an insatiable sweet tooth I need something that I can nibble on all day without packing on the pounds and this provides that perfectly.
The squishy chewy texture means you can't gulp it down in one swoop, but can acutally savour the fake caramelly taste.
At only 90 calories (only 40 more than an apple) they are an ideal nibblet for the dieter cursed with a mouth that mistakes sugar for heroin!!!!
They're pretty ...

Advantages: Lower fat and calorie alternative to a Mars Bar Disadvantages: Very sweet, relatively high sugar level
I bought this bar on impulse whilst doing a small shop at Tesco. I'm currently on a 'healthy eating' kick, so thought I would give this a go as a 'choccie treat'.
The texture is quite 'squidgy', and consists of a layer of soft nougat-y substance, a layer of caramel, and then covered in chocolate. Basically, like a small Mars Bar. The taste is also similar to a Mars Bar, and very sweet. A little bit too sweet for me, but delicious all the same. A ... ...come across before!
Nutritionally, it sells itself on having just 99 calories, and the fat levels are low at 3.2g (compared to a Kitkat which is 107 cals and 5.7g of fat). However, the sugar levels seem quite high (14g compared to 11g in a Kitkat), as are the Carbohydrates (18.1g compared to 13.3g in a Kitkat).
Overall, a good alternative if you really can't kick that chocolate craving, but not as good as an apple ;0) ...

Advantages: It was free Disadvantages: it was still too expensive
I know what you're thinking. Why in the name of all that's healthily nutritious would a hunky guy, who's obviously in the peak of physical condition, be writing a review about a slimfastbar?
Well I'm afraid I can't answer that. But I can tell you why a fat git like me is writing a review about it. I scored one of these from a freebie site. Why would I do that? because it was free (duh).
Yep, I like it when the price is right, and at zilcho spondulas, the price can't get any righter. But even so, was it worth it?
Oh the excitement. No sooner had Mr Postie dropped one through my letterbox than I skipped down the stairs like ballerina wearing deep-sea diver's boots and scooped that (hopefully) delicious little bar of dietary goodness into my grubby little mitts.
Right...
What we have here, is a low-cal, low-carb bar having ...

Advantages: it was free Disadvantages: probably won't make you thin
I?m going to be honest with you. This is a product I would never ever have tried in a million years. The only reason I ended up trying it was because it was sent to me free. On Sunday when I had nothing better to do I was indulging in my Ciao addiction (hurrah for the internet). The ?free slim-fastbar? ad kept on coming up and I kept on clicking it shut. But then as it kept on coming I could only focus on two things: Number one: it was food. Number two: it was free. Who can turn down free food? Who? Not me. So I merrily signed up for some free food and then went off to see if I could get any more free food sent my way.
A few days ago my free bar arrived in the post. But first a little history. Slim-fast has been around for some time. The program promises that you will lose weight by going on its meal replacement program ...
