My partner & I both needed to lose some weight. Personally I needed to lose about 2st.
We have tried eating healthily, however we soon got bored of salads and other healthy food.
We tried the Aitkens diet and the weight well off. However we soon got fed up of eggs, eggs and more eggs for breakkie. Also as soon as we stopped this diet the weight just pilled back on.
We have been to weight watchers and again it kind of worked, to start with.
Well thats our dieting history. We decided to try Slim Fast. We bought the ready made drinks, tubs of Slim Fast powder, Slim Fast soup and snack bars.
The products are expensive, espcially when you are buying a weeks supply for two. However the ready mixed shake drinks are £1.19. This works out cheaper than buying a sandwich in the works canteen, and much cheaper & healthier than a main meal with chips as I used to.
With Slim Fast (SF) you have two milkshakes a day, one for breakfast & one for lunch. If you are peckish between you can have a SF snack or piece if fruit. For dinner you have a healthy 600 calorie home cooked meal. Once again if you feel peckish in the evening you can have a low fat dessert, SF snack or fruit.
I found this easy to stick to as there are 4 flavours of shake; bannana, chocolate, vanila, strawberry. All four are available as shakes or in powder form. There is also two flavours of soup. I have not tried these. There are also yogurt type drinks. I like these for breakfast. The SF snacks are caramel chocolate bars; peanut caramel bars; sour cream & chive flavour pretzels; cheddar flavour bites.
While I was following the SF plan I lost about 1st, then I went on holiday! So it crept back on. I didnt do any dieting for a little while however I have just this week started back on it and hope to be slimmer by my holidays in September.
In review;
This is an easy plan to follow. It doesn't require complicated instructions. It is quite expensive to buy (however if you account for the money you would spend on lunches it isn't so bad) One does lose weight (well I did.) The shakes are tasty (nice 'n' creamy) The snacks are nice (I love the caramel choacolate bar)
If you have tried other diest without success then try the Slim Fast Plan, you have nothing to lose except weight.

Nice, easy to read and helpful review there. I know this Diet can work very well, as a friend of ours stuck to it rigidly for about 6 months and lost about 3 stone, although she does call it " Shit-Fast " nowdays !!!!.........Roy......
