Advantages: "Free" TV from the other side of the world... where-ever you are! Disadvantages: Really none I can think of that concern the device itself
This review is actually based on my use of the Japanese version of this product, SlingMedia's Sling Box SB150-120.
The UK model is the SB150-110, and as far as I have been able to establish (from friends actually using it on my advice), the UK model differs from the Japanese model only in respect of the TV Tuner.
The UK Model * I am told * features a TV Tuner that is DVB/FreeView capable (which would not work in Japan anyway) and is of course based on the PAL TV system (whereas Japan's model uses NTSC like America).

It comes with all the cables, software, and instructions you will require ...

I ordered a Slingbox Solo SB260-110 on a Friday & had it delivered to my home in the Republic of Ireland by the following Tuesday. Fantastic delivery. The price [including delivery] beat anything available in local stores or on the web. I couldn't recommend Digital Fusion more highly!
The Slingbox Solo SB260-110 allows me beam my cable tv from the ROI to a friend in Texas. This is something that we have talked about doing for years, so that he can watch Irish TV/Premiership Soccer/Gaelic Football from the US.
We also found an iPhone app written by Slingbox that allows the signal from the Slingbox Solo SB260-110 to be sent to his phone. It has proved to be a great hit in his local Texan watering-hole. I highly recommend the Slingbox Solo SB260-110. ...
