Honey Sticks
Advantages: colourful packaging, keeps hamster teeth down Disadvantages: sugary, unhealthy
These treats are ok occasionally for hamsters and by occasionally I mean once a month. They are rich is sugar and honey wich should not be fed to dwarf hamster so these treats are only suitable for syrains. They have little nutritional value but hamsters love chewing on them to keep their teeth down. The sticks are quite big so I would check the hamsters hoard as they will go quite sticky id left in the cage for too long. I wouldn't feed these to ...

Healthy fruit salad (for hamsters). Looks yummy.
Advantages: Healthy and simple to use Disadvantages: none
...the front states it is Naturals Healthy Fruit Salad in the ‘boredom breaker’ range. This is supposed to sprinkle a little sunshine into my pets day by adding some fruit salad to their usual diet. There is a cute little line drawing of a hamsters face. The label on the back lists the ingredients and nutritional values and provides the company contact details.
☺ Contents
Basically it is a packet of dried fruit (well almost). My partner saw ... ...it on his cereal – it does look rather appetising. In the packet are dried apples, bananas, carrots, rowan berries, leek (is this a fruit??), parsnips (another fruit?), rosehips and potatoes (lol). Well, there may be some ‘fruits’ here I wouldn’t expect in my fruit salad but I don’t suppose the hamsters mind the technicalities. To be fair the blurb on the front does describe it as a mix of dried fruits and vegetables but I didn’t read the small print ...

RABBIT DROPPINGS
Advantages: Enables me to give bunny some lacking vitamins Disadvantages: My bunny finds them bland.
...I started to try the Vitakraft range which are available in France and packaged in such a way that one would think them tempting. A picture of a happy rabbit on the packet and the promise of strengthening the jaw and bone structure as well as giving bunny the vitamins he needs was enough to make me part with my 2 Euros 40 (which by today's currency rate means £1.67 for a 100 gram packet.
Vitakraft have their packaging in a bright green that stands ... ...them a resounding 8/10
Vitakraft make many products that Mr. Rabbit enjoys enormously though out of all the products, I have to say that apart from the vitamin C ones, the others were a waste of money. Even the happy ones seemed a bit of a waste really even though he enjoyed them because he gets the same pleasure from fresh carrot, so only occasionally gets these treats. The fruit ones come in a sickly pale pink colour and although purporting to ...

donuts for hamsters
Advantages: nice little treat Disadvantages: not too healthy
Vitakraft hamster donuts are a lovely little treat for your little friend.
Although they are called donuts they dont look like donuts to me, the only resemblence to a donut is that they have a hole in the middle, they look more like little fairy cakes very similar looking to what we would eat except these have peas in them.
These are intended as a treat and advertised as a treat inbetween meals, i give these a lot more sparingly than that though, ... ...a lot of sugar and glucose syrup so are not realy that healthy for your little friend so bear this in mind when giving them to him.
The donut it self is not too hard and quite squidgy to the touch but the peas are hard as they hae been dryed, my hamster loves these but 1 does last him all day so it is a nice long treat for him, he also eats all of it as opposed to hoarding it like he does his normal food so he must find these quite yummy.

Pampered pet treats
Advantages: cheap and easy Disadvantages: none
...treats for them. These fruit donuts are suitable for hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs, mice, rabbits and rats. Supreme Petfoods Ltd focus specifically on small animals, in particular rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, rats, chinchilla, gerbils and ferrets. As well as foods and treats they also supply a range of bedding and toys which of course are important to prevent boredom. There products are widely available from pet shops and supermarkets. The fruit donuts come in a bright yellow cardboard box with bands of red, green, blue and orange and an illustration of two young children holding a rabbit and guinea pig. There is a small clear window which allows you to see the contents. The donuts themselves are sealed in a clear plastic bag inside the box.
