MCC SMART CAR

Advantages: CHEAP TO RUN,INSURE FUN TO DRIVE,GREAT TO OWN
Disadvantages: NOT MUCH USE IF YOU WANT TO SEAT 3 PEOPLE

I recently purchased a smart car for my other-half since it was the only reason she took her car test and passed, she has adored them since she first set eyes on one. Car purchased i must admit i was a bit sceptical about getting in it. Classic car a mini A class Mercedes

Advantages: Fuel economy, road tax ,recycle , parking, Air con.
Disadvantages: No spare tyre. right shoulder visibility.

Having driven a Morris Minor for 24 years I found some similarities eg bolt on panels sunvisors and wipers that folded in on themselves. So using the smart I felt at home. I have now had two smart cars. The advantages were ,better breaking and ride and space. I bought my first smart in 2001 and had six years trouble free driving but at 80.000 miles the engine over heated due to and oil leak that had not been picked up at servicing.being left hand ...
...model. The advantage was that I now had a larger fuel tank so could go further without a refuel.also the 59 miles to the gallon is brilliant. I love the air conditioning in summer and now have heated seats in winter. Being a two seater cant carry more that one friend ! the others will have to learn to drive! could be a plus.but boot space is good and the front seats have enough space to move forward to make more. Review of MCC Smart convertible

Our best ever decision was to buy a diesel Smart

Advantages: Incredible economy, no Road tax, no congestion charge, tiny insurance
Disadvantages: Vulnerable, and you need to learn how to use the gearbox to best advantage

I'm new to Ciao! so am enjoying reading reviews on stuff I know about. Didn't even realise there would be an opportunity to review our beloved Smart! It has done the job for us. A bit of background on our decision: Until 2001 we always had 2 cars in the family - with 5 kids, aged at that time between 25 and 9, we needed 'volume' carriers. The good news is they grow up and leave home. Yeay. In 2000, the Passat diesel estate was getting weary - 400 ...
...was starting to need more and more bits. We decided to downsize, with just 2 kids left and one about to go to University. AND, decided to go for a bigger car plus the smallest car possible that could also do the job of running just two of us around and yet carry our kit for trips into France.
