Advantages: Hilariously funny and addictive. Disadvantages: Absolutley none!
First off let me warn you - this review is looooong !!
'Friends' is an absolutely hilarious collection of 10 series of episodes following the day-to-day lives of 5 best friends living in New York, American. In my opinion, it is not the typical stereotypical American humour that I understand a lot of people dislike for its cheesiness and pathetic punch lines, it is very much your typical day-to-day problems and experiences taken in and acted in out with a very intelligent and witty sense of humour that everyone will love!
I am a very strong follower of this comic programme have almost every single episode. Series 8, I believe, is no funnier than any of the other series as I can honestly say I haven't seen a disappointing episode yet, but I believe it is slightly more addictive as it has some very interesting turns to the story line ...
Advantages: Good dialogue, good acting, interesting story Disadvantages: Is a bit of a slow moving story
Seeing how I think I did ok reviewing another of Wes Andersons movies I figured I might as well have a go at reviewing the others I've seen as well, so I figured I'd start with Bottle Rocket, as thats the first film that Wes directed and its also the first film that Owen and Luke Wilson and Bob Musgrave starred in too, the start of good things to come!
This movie I believe was written while Owen (and Luke(?)) and Wes were at university together in Texas in the 1990s and is now seen as a cult comedy hit.
Bottle Rocket is all about three friends who team up to escape their boring lifes and pursuit a life of petty crime. This eventually leads to the local criminal 'head honcho' who's played by James Caan, spotting them and convincing them to carry out a large heist - but is it too much for them to handle and will they get away with it ...
Advantages: Good, clean and smooth shave. Disadvantages: Expensive razor and blades.
Shaving is one of the classic school boy dreams which turns into an adults nightmare! This was the one myth that really haunts us lads ? shaving is not cool.
I remember at school the rumours going round:
"Oi, did you 'ere that spotty Patterson has started shaving"
"No - he can't have?!"
"We'll I reckon I'm going to have to soon if he has" (you know, just so wishing you were)
- yeah, yeah - perhaps it was the boy's version of starting your period? Knowing what I know now I would have given spotty Paterson the thumbs up rather than the cold shoulder for being that 'more mature than me'. The fact is I HATE SHAVING!!!
However, the reality is that I have no choice in the matter, meeting clients with a twelve o?clock shadow might not the give that first impression I try to achieve.
