Advantages Flexibility, Brakes, Grip, Trim level, Economy, Performance

Disadvantages Ride over humps, No cruise control, Parts service is slow

A very light original small hot hatch design but with the bonus of 5 doors & fold flat seats giving good load space. Something for other manufacturers to aspire to or revisit as most seem to have lost the plot with kerbweight & practicality. Grip is great. Power delivery is well controlled with a good burst from turbo when required. Mitsubishi Coltengine should last well. The brakes are truly neck snappingly phenomenal. Trim level & quality good. Great seats, very comfortable for long journeys & definately no more noisy than the competition. Suspension a little hard if you live in speed hump city. Glass roof is well it's a glass roof! Salesman sung the roof's praises, we didn't realise how nice it was until we lived with it & I now know why people pay £900 to get it on an Audi A3. Quite economical 42 MPG+ on a journey over 10 miles. 32 average around town. 22MPG if it's freezing & less than 3 mile journey i.e. it doesn't get warmed up. Suitable for tall (6'4" me with a bad back) & short (5' wife) drivers. Cruise, Auto wipers & headlights with Xenons should have been standard for original £16500 price. We only paid £12950 for pre-registered 0 miles & that was enough. Salesman was let down by poor service from Smart in Germany for parts. (minor interior trim fault due to sun making transport tape non removable!) All fixed though. It took about 6 weeks to get all parts fixed which was a bit inconvenient. I wouldn't like it to break down & take that long to fix. I love driving this car more than my C32 AMG Merc. The rear seats slide back into the boot space for tall people, so the boot space when rear seats are occupied by large passengers is tall but not very deep.
