The new generation of Smash Court Tennis is here! Far detached from the Smash Court Tennis 2, it hosts a range of new features though the career mode seems to have been kept mostly the same. The career mode like i said above is much the same, there are certain new ideas, the main one being the doubles play which can be done alongside the singles play. There is also the addition of new skills such as driving and diving volley, this gives the game the edge over the previous version, mainly because it feels like the player is advancing more and more the more times you play on the career. However their is one drawback to it and that is that it stops, the skill and level points stop increasing once you hit level 100, this is annoying because it gives you the feeling that you have nothing to work for. Even when you do get to that stages in the career mode, there is always the mini games, pacman, galaga tennis. These never get boring, because their fun and easy to win, once you get used to them. Your performance is tracked all through the game this is especially handy when you want to see who is the most accurate out of you and your mate, before you battle it out on AD-HOC mode. There is still the old favorite if you get bored of all of the things mentioned above, exhibition and arcade mode, these modes enable you to play a normal game against computer simulated players, this is good if you are trying to develop a certain shot, for example your backhand, and if there it still no luck you can still hone in your skills and make yourself a better player on the tutorial mode. A feature that is common with all game modes in the replay system and hawkeye, these give you the feeling that it is a real match you are playing or watching. The price as with all PSP games varies and depends on which shop you go to, but if you go to a high street dealer i would say that you would get it for around £15-25, though if you wanted it cheaper you could always buy it second hand for around £10. All in all i think that this game is good value for money becuase it boasts a large range of modes, and things to do (including multiplayer modes). It would also complete your experience as well as your collection if you already have Smash Court Tennis 1 & 2.
