The bottle is black and grey and contains 275ml of the drink. The typical Smirnoff logo is written across the bottle and underneath this Black Ice is written. The drink is described on the bottle as ’a refreshing citrus blend with triple distilled vodka for a crisp, clean bite.’ It is 5.5% vol.
I found this product far more refreshing than Smirnoff Ice which I don’t particularly like. You can taste the alcohol but the drink certainly has the ‘crisp, clean bite’ that was promised.
It is a clear fizzy liquid whereas the original Smirnoff ice is cloudy like traditional-style lemonade is. I like the fizziness of these drinks as the bubbles are very small (this sounds ridiculous I know) which I think is nicer than the larger bubbles you get in some fizzy soft drinks.
The drink smells of citrus juices, lemon and lime I think and tastes like a vodka and lemonade with a bit of something else added that gives it that extra bite (I’m not sure what this is but it appealed to me, slightly sharp but in a pleasant refreshing way).
This is a great drink to have when you go clubbing and make sure you have it chilled a sit tastes awful after a while (what alco-pop doesn’t). A friend told me this drink is more popular than the original Smirnoff Ice and I can see why. Firstly the adverts are on constantly so it makes you want to try it and secondly it makes you want to come back for more whereas Smirnoff Ice is too sweet for more than a couple of bottles.
The price of this varies hugely from place to place. Where I live it costs between £2.60 and £3.00 in most of the bars and clubs. It might work out cheaper if you were to buy in bulk for a party though.
Overall I would definitely recommend this drink. Even for those who don’t like Smirnoff Ice it will probably appeal. I love having it when I go clubbing with friends as it is a very social drink. Enjoy it and let it be as clear as your conscience…
Smirnoff Black Ice. An easily recognisable product, to anybody who has seen a bottle of Smirnoff Ice! Smirnoff across the bottle, with their shield underneath. The label is in black and silver, and is 'better looking' than the origional red one. The drink itself is clear, unlike Smirnoff Ice, which is more like cloudy lemonade.
It is produced and bottled in Italy for the Pierre Smirnoff Company Limited. (You need to keep in a cool place away from ... ...they use the Black Label Smirnoff in this one, as appossed to Red Label Smirnoff, as in the Smirnoff Ice. The drink is very similar to having a Vodka with Lemonade, so do not dismiss it if you do not like Smirnoff Ice. Personally, I can only manage one Smirnoff Ice before it gets too sickly/sweet! This is much more refreshing, and you can easily drink it all evening when you go out. It's pleasantly fizzy, not too gasy. (I'm drinking one as I write!) ...

Advantages: Not as tooth curlingly sweet as many alcopops Disadvantages: Not anything special at all
...a couple of bottles of Smirnoff Black Ice ended up as leftovers after a recent party. Claiming itself to be a vodka mixed drink with a hint of lime, it’s not the kind of thing I’d normally go for, if only because I’m not usually a vodka drinker. I do quite like lime, though, so I thought I’d give it a try, figuring that would be the dominant taste.
Vodka tends not to have much of an odour, so you don’t get much when you open the bottle. There’s ... ...its sister drink, plain old Smirnoff Ice. This slight bitterness does linger, too.
This is perhaps the one way that Smirnoff Black Ice sticks out from the competition in the alcopop market. The majority of drinks in that range tend to be fruit based drinks and come in a variety of sweet flavours. Most of the alternative vodka mixed drinks on the market also tend towards the sweet, working on that modern favourite of vodka and Red Bull, or some similar ...

Advantages: nice, good price, refreshing Disadvantages: too strong for some.
...with large bottles of Vodka, Smirnoff red label is the bog standard £10 a litre stuff whilst the black label is the triple distilled version that doesn’t leave your mouth feeling as if it has been swilled out with cleaning fluid. Smirnoff ice is made with the red label vodka, black ice is made with the black label vodka, and so it is purer and stronger. - Price/ Size -
The alcopop comes in two sizes of bottle, as is the trend now. Mostly you will ... ...The adverts said that Smirnoff black ice was as “clear as your conscience” and went on to show people doing rather naughty things. The drink is crystal clear due to the triple distilled vodka used in it, most alcopops today are some unpleasant tinge or some odd neon colour – being clear is a nice change. The bottle is clear with a plastic label with the Smirnoff logo in black on the front, it is easy to recognise.
- Smell - The drink smells strongly ...

Advantages: An alcopop for adults Disadvantages: Those ads!
...clear bottle with the Pierre Smirnoff name embossed in capitals around the shoulders and the sober black and silver label (you will have noticed around Christmas how many gifts aimed at men come in these colours) suggest a product that is elegant yet no-nonsense, refined yet very, very masculine.
Smirnoff Ice quickly became an alcopop classic, the standard by which other lemon-flavoured vodka premixes are judged. Black Ice, the sequel, is the first ... ...taste is suspiciously similar to Smirnoff Ice in the old red label, though the lesser effervescence (try saying that after downing one) makes a surprisingly big difference. I would say it's less sweet than its predecessor, but maybe that's what the marketing is designed to make me think.
You can taste the lemon, and the vodka too. The effect is of drinking mildly citrus-flavoured, alcoholic water - which, on reflection, is exactly what it is. It's ...

Advantages: Contains Vodka Disadvantages: Leaves a manky taste in the mouth
...we still sell far more Smirnoff Red Ice than Black Ice - despite the marketing campaign. OK. Hard facts. 275ml bottle. "Citrus" (undefined) and vodka mix. Bottle is identical in shape to Smirnoff Red Ice. Writing is in black and silver (somehow, the bottles don't look friendly enough.....). Liquid is clear, unlike Smirnoff Red. In other words it looks like a bottle of soda water or lemonade. Has the same alcohol content as Smirnoff Red - so does ... ...Personal Comparison:
I've drunk Smirnoff Red for ages now, and have even drunk it slightly warm (for anyone who's thinking "how could she?", it was one of those rare, hot, days in summer and lots of us went to the park for a few hours with a picnic and some bottles and cans, but forgot the ice-bag). However, Black Ice tastes sickly even when it's VERY cold, and I hate to think what it would be like warm (actually, don't want to think about it!).

Advantages: Trusted, reputable brand. Disadvantages: The cheaper versions, are pretty much the same when your mixing :)
...I know I don;t!!
Now something I will say about Smirnoff Vodka is that it is a very respectable brand, every single off license or supermarket whihc sells alcohol will have Smirnoff, you can trust it, you know its not been made with rubbish which really isn't going to be good for you.
The bottle itself comes in many sizes, shot sized, quarter bottle, half bottle, 750cl bottle, and litre bottle, as well as the pub sized "upside down" bottles. Its got the trademark red sticker in a transparent bottle, with a red metal bottle top, you can spot it a mile off.
As well as straight vodka, Smirnoff also make different varieties in the form of "alco pop" type drinks, Smirnoffice, SmirnoffBlackIce. WHihc are a lemony taste, made mainly for young people in clubs for the ease of drinking to save you mixing!
I also think they now do ...
Advantages: A nice cool refreshing drink Disadvantages: You don't feel anything until after you've drunk loads of them.
Hello once again fellow Ciao reviewers!! I'm back again, this time with a review on one of my favourite drinks - Reef!!
Now normally I'm not a huge drinker of alcopops, although I do like the occasional WKD Blue or SmirnoffBlackIce and I didn't even know about this one until my sister bought me the Orange and Passionfruit Reef (that's the one with the yellow-orange label on it.)
Looking at the bottle, it said it was only 5% so I thought why not let's try it. Next thing was what was in the drink, like orange juice, passionfruit juice and I think banana juice too!! as well as the Vodka. Unlike most alcopops like Smirnoff this drink is not carbonated and won't go flat or fill you up. It's a nice refreshing blend of vodka and fruit juice.
Next thing was to shake the bottle as there was a fair amount of pulp at the bottom, wasn ...

Advantages: nice and refreshing when its cold Disadvantages: a bit icky when it's warm
When I started writing this op it was nearing the end of one of the hottest weekends of the year so far and it just so happens that throughout the heatwave I managed to drink my way through 8 bottles of SmirnoffIce and 4 bottles of Archer?s Aqua. So, it?s only fair that I review one of them and now it?s the turn of the SmirnoffIce.
SmirnoffIce isn?t normally a drink I go for, unless its very cheap and I?m very skint. As it happens, these perfect conditions arose and I purchased 8 bottles for £5 from the Co-op at the end of my shift. Having bought 6 bottles of Carlsberg Special Brew the day before, I think the new lad that served me now thinks I?m an alky. Oh well?
The original SmirnoffIce, not the blackice version, what do we know about it? Well, it?s a vodka mixed drink, surprise surprise, with a very faint taste ...
