As I said before Vodka mixes with anything and in my time I have drunk it with, Lemon, lemonade and orange. One thing I can't abide is Vodka ... ...'cocktail' form, oh I do like expensive drinks, so I thought you might like to share the taste.
I have no idea if this is a 'known' cocktail or not, so no moaning in my comments section if it is, it's just something a friend made for me recently.
This is best served in the tallest glass you can find with a couple of ice cubes.

OK, I promised someone somewhere I would do an opinion on Vodka, I can't remember who as I was more than likely drunk when I promised, so to whoever you are this opinion is dedicated to you :o)
To start with I have to say that Vodka is not my chosen spirit, it is in fact quite low down the list of spirits I like but I choose to drink it for a few reasons.
One. Vodka is a darn site cheaper then Baileys, which happens to be my favourite. In my local pub I can get it for free, but don't try this, it's only as the barmaid is my best friend and I am currently the judge of the Karaoke competition in there. The Owner is far to cheap to pay me for my time so he pays in vodka, which I have to say, suits me down to the ground.
Two. Vodka is a clear liquid, which upon spilling, does not stain your clothing or your arms. Well, actually if you spill it on white it does dry to a lovely yellow colour BUT as I never wear white, this is not a problem for me. I used to be a bit of a Pernod and blackcurrant girl, but apart from making me rather agressive it used to spill all over my hand during the night making it look like I was wearing one red glove.
Three. Vodka mixes with anything, unlike the other drinks I have a thing for. Have you ever tried mixing Baileys with Orange or Pernod with Lemon, ewwww. This makes it the ultimate 'bring a bottle' drink as you know there will be some sort of mixer to use wherever you are going, even if you do have to dust of a ten year old bottle of bitter lemon.
Four. After posting my opinion about Baileys and Brandy being my favourite drink I had many comments saying that it was far to expensive to be buying for me at the Ciao meet. Not wanting to disappoint you all, as I know you would like nothing better than to purchase a drink for me, I have given you all a cheaper alternative ;o)

Ok, maybe it's best to mix up a huge amount first and pour it into a glass, unless you have very large glasses!
One small problem with Vodka is it tends to go straight to my head and I can't tolerate it as well as other drinks. Probably due to the fact I drink it far to quickly and because I prefer to have doubles. A night on the vodka usually ends up in either an embarrasing moment of some sorts during the evening, or worse, waking up with an embarassing moment from the night before ;o)
I might add at the bottom of this opinion that after about six Vodkas you could actually serve me any old rubbish and I wouldn't notice the difference, Vodka has (I think) a very subtle taste anyway, the more you drink it, the less you can taste ...

Firstly, excuse the obvious title steal from the recent Smirnoff advertisement campaign - I'm too lazy to think of a title myself!
Personally, vodka has never been my drink of choice, I'm usually impartial to a couple of pints of stella down at my local, or sometimes a couple of glasses of wine (don't tell anyone I drink wine please!). However, I can be seen to be drinking Smirnoff blue on a pretty ... ...that a couple of double Smirnoff Blue and coke's sets myself up nicely for a night on the town with the boys.
Secondly, Smirnoff vodka blue is an extremely smooth tasting vodka. As I mentioned earlier, although vodka isnt my drink of choice, I have tried and tested most of the vodka's available on the domestic market and to be frank, this is one of the best around. Obviously if you're not a vodka fan, this is definately not going to convert you ...

...pretty much anything. Having drunk Smirnoff Red mixed with Coke every time I went out for years now I fancied a change. Having seen Smirnoff Blue label Vodka in the supermarket I decided to give it a try. Being slightly stronger than standard vodka with an abv of 50% (100 proof) compared to the 37.5% (75 proof) red label Smirnoff, you can really taste the difference. The extra few pound it costs for the blue label really is worth it, The vodka tastes ... ...you want, then this is the vodka for you. At approximately £15 per bottle for such a fine vodka it really is worth every penny. Go buy some, mix it with a soft drink of your choice, and have in my opinion a sophisticated drink which wont cost you an arm and a leg. ...

I first tried Smirnoff vodka blue one night at uni before my flat and I went out to a club. If were going straight to a club we usually have a few drinks before we go out to make the night a lot cheaper and one game we'd come up with was vodka poker, a game that involves doing shots of vodka if you lose a hand. It basically means that a 70cl bottle of vodka between 3-4 people goes within 15 minutes but we figured that we'd try some stronger vodka ... ...first thing that we noticed other than the stronger taste was how quick it seemed to take affect compared to other vodka's, it definitely make me feel like I couldn't handle as many shots compared to normal but with a mixer it was easier to drink, especially fresh orange and red bull.
With it available at most supermarkets and off licences at just under £15 for a 70cl bottle (45%) it's defiantly a drink that you can have if you trying to get very ...

Blue, yeah great... but have you tried the BLACK LABEL 40% number. Now that makes your lips tingle. Can anyone tell me what possesses a company to make 40% Vodka???? there is only one possible explanation... to get you very very drunk. I am actually sitting here now sipping on one right now (hence the short entry)... I have to say that it is (like the red and blue) a very nice drink. Vodka in all it's etoh % is a very versatile drink, for many a ... ...it fits in with a whole lot of diet regimes.....LOL. It goes now very well believe it or not with diet coke. try it. so yes to the black and a thumbs up to the blue. and always always stay with smirnoff... But remember not to let it make you Black and Blue....sip..hmmmm that's good!!!!! ...

between 22-28%, so you definately do get quality when it comes to the good old Smirnoff.
SmirnoffVodka is excellent in the way that it is so versatile, you can mix it with pretty much anything:
Orange, coke, redbull, lemon fanta, orange fanta, lemonade, tropical juice, pineapple juice, tia maria and coke.. the list does on. My favourite is probably tia maria, vodka and coke. Black Russian. Lovely!!
You can really use your imagination with SmirnoffVodka and mix it with anything AND I do suggest you do mix it. Definately would not recommend drinking it straight (as a shot or sipping is hard to do).
There are also different varieties of SmirnoffVodkas available, such as:
Nordic Berries, Lime, Blue, (extra strong at 45%!!!!!!!) and Black. Of course other rivalries, such as Absolut are probably the leading vodka brand for flavoured vodkas ...
