My little boy Harry has been dragged around the shops with me since he was about 3 weeks old. Consequently, he rather loves sitting in the big supermarket trolley being Daddy's trolley helper when we do our weekly shop. So when it came to thinking of things for Father Christmas to bring Harry, we couldn't quite resist buying him this little trolley!

The trolley is made the company Smoby, who produce a large range of children's toys, available in toy shops and all across the internet. The trolley comes in the colours of light blue and a lime green, with fetching red wheels. The wheels are held on by plastic screws which are nice and sturdy and rotate smoothly, and squeak free! It also has a sticker on the side of the basket which reads "Let's Shop" in case us mummies and daddies forget what it's for! It is made of sturdy plastic, which is lovely and light for Harry to push and around and occasionally pick up to show us how strong he is!

You might think it isn't easy to transport the trolley, especially if you have a small car and it's full up with lots of things, or you don't have much storage space. Well, it actually is. The basket actually lifts off of the base frame with a sharp tug, and then turns upside down so the frame sits inside the basket with the wheels sticking up. This reduces its size by about 50%, handy for storing it away in a cupboard or in your car boot. To put back together, just line up the pegs on the base frame and the holes in the basket and push together until there is a loud click. Easy peasy!

The basket capacity is a good size, Harry is able to stuff in 3 or 4 large sized toys to push around so there is a good enough space for your child to be able to put their treasured possessions. The handle height is a good size for 2 year old as well, it is roughly just at Harry's chest so he has a good area for gripping and he isn't struggling to push the trolley around either, which is a good thing.

We got our trolley from Mothercare, for the bargain price of £5.99. You can also buy it from the Mothercare website if your local store does not stock, although you have to pay a delivery charge of £4.95. It is advertised as being suitable for children aged over 2 years, but Harry is 21 months and fine with it, and I would have been happy letting him play with this once he was walking steadily at about 14 months.

It is worth noting that the trolley could be quite easy to tip over, so don't let your child fill it with objects that are too heavy as it could cause them an injury. However, you will be amazed at how many soft toys your child can squish in here, Harry tries to fill with as many of his precious belongings as possible before trying to empty them again! See what fun and games a mere £5.99 can provide?!

Sounds good value. It's usually the most simple toys that have the best play value. Great review xx
