Snack-a-Jacks Classic Salt & Vinegar flavour are an excellent healthier substitute for the regular fried potato crisps. They come in bright blue packaging as displayed in the picture and also as Jumbo Rice Cakes, which are packaged in a twisted wrapper and are 3-4 times larger than the normal size which are the size of regular crisps.

THE FLAVOUR

The Snack-a-Jacks Salt & Vinegar flavour is a much tangier, tastier and enjoyable flavour than the regular Walkers Salt & Vinegar. You really notice the fact that Walkers Salt & Vinegar taste more chemical and of flavourings after you've had the Snack-a-Jacks in this flavour. This may be due to the fact that the rice cakes are thicker than normal crisps and seem to contain the flavour better than potato. However, Snack-a-Jacks have become thinner over the past couple of years; an inevitable result of down-sizing and the recession.

Also Snack-a-Jacks can be messier than your normal crisps as they are crumblier and the packet contains almost powder-like crumbs of flavour which taste great ,providing you don't accidently empty into your lap. In which case, it is a nightmare to clean every last crumb!

INGREDIENTS

Snack-a-Jacks are made of 44% wholegrain rice, maize (with germ removed), salt & vinegar flavour [salt, sugar, flavourings, flavour enhancer (monosodium glutamate, disodium guanylate), citric acid], sunflower oil, Soya lecithin .

The great thing about these is that they are suitable for both vegetarians and coeliacs and each Jumbo rice cake contains less than 1% of the Guideline Daily Amount of fat which is 70g. They contain 41 calories and 0.4g of salt.

The regular packets of Snack-a-Jacks are also available in the following flavours: barbecue, caramel, cheese, prawn cocktail, sour cream & chive, sweet chilli. The Jumbo rice cakes are also available in: caramel, cheese and chocolate chip.

These are a great tasting, light and healthier alternative to the regular potato crisps.
