Advantages: Educational for children and can pass boredom Disadvantages: Doesn't keep entertaining for long periods of time
...am sure everybody knows what snakes and ladders is but, I shall explain just in case! The game can be played by as many players as you want really but, you tend to find most of the bought games have pieces for 4 players at a time. The game board consists of a square board which has 100 small squares printed on it. The squares tend to be different colours and more often than not they consist of red, blue, yellow and green. The board also then has ... ...when the continually land on snakes and end up back down at the bottom of the board! Of course there is only so much of snakes and ladders that you can play as it is geared more towards children to help them with numbers, colours and to also help them to learn how to play as a group and to interact with others. I think it is a classic game but, played too much in one go soon gets boring.
I used to love playing board games when I was younger and always had lots of different games. When I moved into my own home I didn't take any with me and so stopped playing board games as often. It was only when thinking how myself and my hubby had both neither played any good old fashioned board games for quite some years that we decided to buy some games to have in the house. We have now ended up with quite a few games in our cupboard. One of them was this, which is probably one of the most well know classic games ever!
The game: I am sure everybody knows what snakes and ladders is but, I shall explain just in case! The game can be played by as many players as you want really but, you tend to find most of the bought games have pieces for 4 players at a time. The game board consists of a square board which has 100 small squares printed on it. The squares tend to be different colours and more often than not they consist of red, blue, yellow and green. The board also then has printed on it pictures of snakes and ladders which run from random squares to another. The aim of the game is to be the first person to reach the 100th square by players taking it in turns to roll a dice number 1-6. However if a player lands on a square that has the bottom of a ladder on it they can move 'up' the ladder to where the ladder ends. If however, they land on a snake they then have to go 'down' the snake to where the bottom of the snake is.
The pieces: The pieces are pretty simple and consist of just 4 plastic coloured flat discs. As I said they provide 4 in the box but, if you really wanted to have more players you can always use small items of your choice for them to move around the board.
Playability: The game is quite fun in my opinion as it is all down to luck when playing - you cannot determine what the dice will roll for each player and so this means that it can get quite heated between players when the continually land on snakes and end up back down at the bottom of the board! Of course there is only so much of snakes and ladders that you can play as it is geared more towards children to help them with numbers, colours and to also help them to learn how to play as a group and to interact with others. I think it is a classic game but, played too much in one go soon gets boring.
Price: The board game is pretty inexpensive - I bought mine from Amazon at a cost of £4.99 - I managed to get free delivery because I was purchasing a few other items at the same time so it worked out quite well. It depends where you purchase the game from and also which manufacturer it is made by as to what price it will be. I would advise looking around before buying as there is no point spending a lot of money on a simple game like this.
Overall opinion: Snakes and ladders is such a simple game yet can provide a good amount of entertainment. It is probably much more fun for children to play but, adults can also enjoy it too. For the low price that I paid, we have certainly got our money's worth from the amount of time we have played it. I would recommend every household to own this game as it will pass some hours away where boredom strikes which is especially useful when a lack of money stops you from being able to partake in more expensive hobbies!
Advantages: Educational, fun Disadvantages: can be boring if you are grown up
Snakes and ladders,

Advantages: Helps children to learn to count Disadvantages: No skill involved so lacks long lasting appeal
...……..that’s my version of how Snakes and Ladders was invented.
Here’s a brief synopsis of how the game is played today!
On a 10x10 board divided into equal squares, players start off in square one. By rolling a dice they progress up the board by moving the number of spaces indicated by the dice. Initially moving left to right, and then moving up one level and moving right to left, the object is to get to square 100 before ... ...roll the exact number to get on the final square).
Easy peasy or wot? Well there are a few complications – if you land at the bottom of a ladder (after using all of your dice roll) you can climb the ladder. If you land at the top of a snake, alas, you must slide down to the end of its tale.
There isn’t any skill involved in the game, just pure luck. It is a colourful board to play on, and perhaps is suitable for young children to help ...

Advantages: So very easy to learn, effectively there are only three rules. Disadvantages: No depth, won't last beyond childhood.
Snakes and Ladders, wow, there's a name that brings back a memory or two. People that have read my Opinions will find that there's a lot of board games in there, and most of the one's I rate highly are the ones that avoid the 'roll a dice and move some spaces' style of play.
In that, I'll admit that amongst my sizable games collection a copy of snakes and ladders is not to be found.
It's a simple game, the board is divided into squares in a 10x10 ... ...down the board to the snakes tail.
So the race has become complicated, short cuts can be used or slip-ups can be made which set the players back.
The problem is of course, that it's entirely random, there is no skill involved, no strategies which can give a player an inside line to winning and in that the game will have no lasting appeal for adults, but the point is it's a game for children, and in that it should function well. Older kids will ...

Snakes and Ladders! An old game played by kids, A good classic game. You all know the rules, you have all played the game, so why are you even reading this review?
Good question, yes, but the other question is, Why am I writing it? The answer is this:-. I start with the fact that the game is easy, so easy in fact that you don't even need instructions, you could get people who have never seen a board game before, to play around and have a good time. ... ...a game console or a computer that can do this like good old Snakes and Ladders.
Here lies my case. Sorry if the review is a short one.

Advantages: Improve on number skills, and social interaction. Affordable. Disadvantages: Can get boring if played too many times at once!
Snakes & Ladders has got to be one of the best of the classic board games. Its excellent in teaching young children how to count, taking turns, having patience and about the luck of the dice. It is a great game to play with absolutely anyone, as there are few rules to the game making it ideal for young players especially and also making it easy for the young players to explain and understand themselves.
In my opinion, computers seem to have taken over the world! There are not enough boardgames out there, that encourage social interaction and bonding, or fair game playing! I think these sorts of boardgames should be more widely avaliable as they are cheap and have more good qualities! ...
Advantages: cheap to buy, fun Disadvantages: can get boring
Snakes and ladders, the two objects don't really go together do they so why create a game involving them?
I first played this game when i was about 8 years old. its fairly simple game to learn how to play and is suitable for all ages.
The idea of the game is some what simple. There is a board consisting of 100 squares, set out in rows and columns of 10. The idea of the game is to get from one to 100, using the dice. However there are certain obstacle to overcome such as the snakes. These are all different lengths. If you land on one of these you have to slide down the tale of the snake to that square. Ladders are also on the board, However these you climb up the board.
You throw the dice moving up the board with the number you achieved. If you gain a six, you roll again.
The game was first invented, so i heard to teach children ...
Advantages: it is easy to set out and to understand. Disadvantages: you cannot have more than 3 players.
The first time i played this was when i was about 7 (i'm now 8.) to play this game you need two counters and a dice. The board consists of a 100 squares with columns and rows of 10 squares. The game is not complexed at all. The idea is to move along the board however many numbers your dice says if you get a 6 you get another go, it is quite a straight-forwward game if you avoid the snakes and ladders but if you land on one they will be an obsticle for you. If you are on the square of a snake you move down until you get to the end of the snake, whereas if you find a ladder you will move up until you get to the end of the ladder. It is a boardgame. The ages are from about 7 till 100. There are 2-3 players. There is not much point in having strategys or plans as the game is mostly fluke and luck and a bit of skill and strategy. I hope i have ...
