SNAPPY MAYBE...EXPENSIVE DEFINITELY

Advantages: quick turnaround of services,
Disadvantages: expensive, inconsistent, staff don't seem to know much - nor care less

...Street Photo labs – like Snappy Snaps – are set up to provide a quick service for the undiscerning public. Many a time, I have stood in line waiting for prints and seen ghastly efforts being looked at my fellow customers, who have accepted them as the ‘best that can be done’. I know that a lot of people have basic cameras and no idea how to take pictures – that’s good for me and is why I am a pro and continue to ...
...the slide film to a Snappy Snaps branch in Peterborough. I wanted it done promptly and was told it could be done their in ‘an hour or so’. 90 minutes later I was in the shop waiting patiently for the slides. “Not done yet, mate, shouldn’t be long”. 5-30pm came and went, the shop had closed, but my slides were still not ready. Still patiently waiting, I began to fear the worst - Six o’clock arrived. “Sorry ... more

Sharp Snaps Snappy

Advantages: Digital zoom, TFT
Disadvantages: No optical zoom

the airport on time, and I spend the entire 2hour flight playing with my new toy :) By the time we landed, not only had I Filled it's internal memory (sadly it is a measely 16mb) but had also made a decent start on the 512mb SD memory card I had bought with it, however I had also tried out just about every one of its extensive feature list + 4x Digital Zoom + Timer + Macro modes + tone effects (monocrome, sepia, negative) + Video Clip And all of the other less useful ones aswell... Needless to say, I took some cracking holiday snaps and filled the memory card within 3 days (which meant paying a fortune for another one whilst abroad) but It was more than worth it - This little digicam is a stunner!!! The print quality overshadowed my 35mm prints (printed using my psc-1215, which I will also review) and the camera has been here ...

Review of Boots

Good Enough for a Professional like me

Advantages: excellent consistency of prints, new digital technology - just simply the best
Disadvantages: the price - but you do pay for quality

, use decent film (I'd recommend FUJI 200 or 400 around £3 per roll)and finally get it processed well - thats where Boots come in! 2 - Processing is important For the amateur in the U.K there is no better place to get your film developed and printed than at BOOTS. Yes, honestly. Like I said, they have invested in digital printing in many of there stores and YOU WILL SEE A DIFFERENCE. There is more detail in the light and dark areas of the prints. They are also able to compensate for any erors you may make in exposure and the prints are NOTICEABLY sharper. OK you can get decent and cheap results from Truprint, Snappy Snaps, Bonus Photo whatever, but especially if the subject of the photos is important don't take the risk of sending them away - take them into a major branch of Boots, pick them up an hour later or next day and you WILL be ...
