INTRODUCTION IN TO SNATCH IIT Ok well here goes Snatch it came out in 2002 it has 3 channels on sky digital snatch it which is on 646 Gems TV which is on 663 & my phone on 658. I’m sure you have guessed it by now they are auction-shopping channels but they are different from most & here is why…SNATCH IT!!! This is my favourite channel of them all! This channel works by having a cheesy presenter introducing an item to buy it could be anything & usually is. They skip from rugs to cutlery there really is not a set amount of items either all are different once the item is introduced a guide price is given & an amount shows at the side to show how many they have, then the lines open & people ring up to buy the item. If the item is not going very fast they begin to the lower the price it is usually by quite a lot & there really are some true savings to be had! An item is on a timer & usually goes on for five to ten minutes so it is not as bad as rival shopping channels that spend about an hour explaining one item. The more quantity the bigger saving is usually how it is but if only everyone waited! To get the item all you need to do is call 0845 3 670670 & stay on the line once the item has ended everyone pays the same price no matter when they ring in, but you have to be very quick on items where they have only a couple of items. GEMS TV This channel works exactly the same as the above but specialises in jewellery but you really have to know about jewellery before you get involved in buying some of the more expensive items, I have seen things to go for over £5000. A lot of the jewellery seems like a bargain but as I am not an expert I am always a little wary of things like that especially when you are forking out a lot of cash. My mum & me always say if it goes for forty quid we’d have it lol The jewellery is not always highly priced & most is quite affordable the expensive items are usually sold with small quantities of 1 or 2 where as the cheaper items are easier to get as there are usually around 8 to 12. The channel sells all sorts of stones not just gems they sell silver, gold & white gold. The main items for sale are

Earrings The site is not just for women either they sell jewellery for me & women, my only qualm with this site are what they do with rings. They sell the rings in a standard ring size & no other which is no good for me I have tiny fingers but they also enclose a voucher that can be used at Stanley’s a retail outlet they use to have the ring altered to your size for a small charge of £10 which isn’t that bad.
PHONE TV This channel is the one I know least about mainly because it bores me & I have no interest in mobile phones. This site is not really an auction site from what I can see they advertise a contract mobile phone for around half an hour & then you call up & order it. Fair enough it is very informative especially if you are thinking of taking a contract mobile phone up but it just is not my cup of tea. When I was watching it I found it quite expensive around £30 a month but I think you did get a lot of things on it. The good thing with the deal though is you can alter it & try & get it with another network & it is the only contract you can end within six months (or so they say) & I thought that sounded pretty good as I got stuck with a mobile phone for a year once & it ended up costing me over a grand!WWW.SNATCHIT.COM Now this is a very good website you do have to register like you do with most auction websites but it is very interactive & really easy to follow. You can forward bid on items, buy a lot of jewellery that does not get advertised on the television, chat to other bidders & have a look at future item. The website never used to be as good as this & has recently undergone some work & now it really is a credit to the show. It has also the information you need about the company so you know the whole thing isn’t just a scam. The website has all contact details, company history, a good help page on how to use the page & what to do if anything happens answers all your questions, all their terms & conditions & a live page of the show which is really good but you have to have a fairly good memory & pc to do this feature, but the main page has the most recent items advertised. I am always a little wary of this though & think items will get sold before I can get on the phone.
POSTAGE This is where the channels really shine yes the initial postage seems quite expensive but they say if you buy another item that gets sent free which I think is quite good as some of the things they sell you know would cost a bomb to send. I think they know what consumers want because we all hate p&p changes you only have to look at competition sites & they charge over a fiver just to send a lipstick, it’s nice to know some sites think of this killer, as once you buy something & add the postage you realise your no longer buying a bargain. They also do have a lot of offers on where they have a free postage day & 3 for free where if you buy three items in a day you get free postage on all of them.

MY PERSONAL RETURNS EXPERIENCE At Christmas I ordered one of the UV acrylic nail sets for £10 less than at Argos but when I received it I was really upset to find the top was scratched & the bulb inside was smashed I do not know what the hell happened but I was not impressed as it was a pressie for my little sister so I emailed them as there phone line was always busy & within an hour they called me back I wanted a replacement but they advised me they had sold out, so I had to have a refund I asked what should I do with this damaged item & they simply said chuck it away, well if that isn’t weird I don’t know what is how could say I wasn’t lying ?? Since then I haven’t really ordered from them I am still a bit wary but when you buy something for a present you expect it to be perfect don’t u.
THE PRESENTERS Oh my god you have to laugh at some of them me & my mum have our favourites I am not sure how many there are but you can tell they are no ex models! He always seem to get then men to handle the jewellery & god they always either have dirty nails or dirty hands it’s really horrible I mean what happened to the old days where we had pretty young ladies having beautifully manicured hands! No none of that on these channels. The women are ok but tend to wear either no make-up or quite a lot usually orange on the cheeks. I think the channel is all to do with saving money but come on!!! Most of the time the sales people are forgetting what to say or speaking a load of old gibberish
OVERALL I think this channel is making good progress & is probably making a lot of money but it’s well worth a look. You might not get a bargain straightaway but in time you could definitely hunt one down but as long as it don’t come damaged.

I didn't plan to watch Chambers. I'd caught occasional snatches of the show, but it was only last week (when my mother was watching it and I had nothing better to do than laze around nearby) that I really got an idea of what it was like. Whether that one episode is typical of the whole series or not I really don't know, but the writing seemed extremely clever and amusing with some top-quality, original jokes that really made me laugh. The cast is good and the show displays a dry but extremely funny humour throughout. I know I'll watch out for it again and I'd urge you to do the same -- it's worth giving it a try, and it may not be as outwardly loud and funny as something like Friends but there is some real entertainment there if you go into it with an open mind. ...

Dangling a juicy carrott in front of someone before snatchingit away is a cruel thing. This is exactly the idea of Family Fortunes. It puts two families against each other, the idea is to guess statistics on a survey. For example, one round may be on Christmas, the question, brilliantly asked by the ever irritable, Les Dennis, "What would you most associate Christmas?" One member from a family chosen at the start will buzz in and say "Food" and everyone will laugh. The big computer screen will then display how many people said this in the survey. If none said this, then a huge buzzer will sound - Eh er. This is the sound most associated with the programme! However has the most points at the end of the game will play the finale. This is where the "Juicy Carrott" theory happens. Great prizes are on offer, holidays, cars, money ...

. The column's intervention into Channel Four's Big Brother, and its attempts to be instrumental in the ousting of Nasty Nick have annoyed me a touch.
Once Nick Batemen was ejected from the house, The Sun claimed it was influential in the result. How is this possible? There was no outsidfe intervention from the media. No sooner was Batemen ejected than he is seen on the front page of this paper, wearing a red baseball cap with The Sun on it at the 'Snatch' premiere! A touch of hipocrisy perhaps?
At the end of the day, The Sun is not worth paying money for, but it is better than nothing when you want to read something at work during lunchtime. ...
