Well I finished mine in about a minute, not bad going that!
Apparently in the 90’s Snickers was one of the most popular chocolate bars around, today it finds itself competing with a much wider market. But still the Snickers is holding on strong. And my late afternoon sugar cravings are what’s keeping it going.
I’m calorie counting at the minute (yeah right), and this little beautie weighs in with over 300 calories and nearly 18g of fat, so my guess is the Weight Watchers and Slim Fasters amongst us, cant have any of this delicious bar. So a definite no, no for the calorie counters amongst us. It’s bursting with Carbohydrates, so again a no, no for the Atkins lot, also the people on the cabbage soup diet, well it’s not a cabbage so again no.
And finally a real BIG no, no for nut
allergy sufferers, the bar itself is made up of 17% fresh roasted peanuts. Which I sorry to say are delicious.
Now we have established the small minority left that can actually consume the Snickers bar let me tell you more.
HOW TO SPY YOUR SNICKERS! Well the plastic wrapper is dull, boring, plain and to top it off brown. This is why is probably easily distinguished from all the bright blue, yellows and purple confectionaries lay among side it. The oblong bar is the size of a Mars bar (about an inch think and 6 inches long). There is a white panel dominating the front of the packet with the words…….. SNICKERS in blue type across. Wow, doesn’t it just sound fantastic?
But on a more serious note, I would be gutted to walk into a newsagents only to find my trusted Snickers has become a plush purple colour with glitzy writing.
TASTING YOUR SNICKERS Open you gob as wide as it will go and prepare your nashers for the bite of their lives. Snickers is one of the hardest chocolate bars to bite into, you have the added problem of large nuts that need biting too, on top of the fact caramel is difficult enough to bite but once you get Oh well its got the unmistakable chocolate flavouring, shared by that of Mars bars and Maltesers, you know the lighter milk chocolate taste. The caramel has a light sweet taste, and is not really too heavy. And the peanuts taste as fresh as ………… the day they were roasted??
To be really honest you cant really taste the chocolate that covers this bar, this bar is all about filling, filling, filling and boy does it have plenty of that.
THE BAR ITSELF The Snickers is divided up into layers, first your teeth pierce through the thin chocolate layer, and break into the next layer, the caramel smothered roasted peanuts. The peanuts are generously sized, well about 80% of them are full sized, and the caramel is generously smothered. Under this crunchy yet smooth layer lies another of the snickers hidden treasures the peanut butter nougat and caramel. It’s a heavy and filling bar and not for the faint hearted who prefer their milky ways or Aeros and will if needs be substitute for a meal, or a quick in between filler.
CHEWING YOUR SNICKERS This is the actually best bit of the bar, it super chewy! You can probably burn all the extra calories off whilst chewing. I can get approximately about five bites per bar and about seven bites in a king size. The nougat is a difficult one to handle and this takes some serious chewing techniques, but I’m sure you can do it, hehe
PARTING WITH YOUR PENNIES! Expect to pay around 35-40p per bar, depending on where you are. In larger supermarkets your can usually pick up four bars for the hearty sum of a £1. If you are a compulsive Snickers scoffer this is highly recommended with individual bars working out at just 25p each. A real bargain.
I myself give the Kingsize bars as miss, as it’s a little too much for me to handle. These from what I have seem usually retail for around 52p. Cheaper than lunch anyway. Lol
STACIE’S SNICKER VERDICT This is a dead cert winner with 5 out of 5 stars. I have been buying snickers, well since they wernt snickers and I will continue to but them even when Masterfoods (who happen to make them, but lets not go into any more detail there) decide to jazz up the packaging, or maybe the name again. I’m a true snickers girl at heart, and would not hesitate to recommend these to anyone, not in the food categories I mentioned at the beginning of the op.
Thanks for reading.
Stacie xx
SNICKERS TRICKS Leave a Snickers in your fridge for a few days and give to a not so popular acquaintance, perhaps your old granny with her false teeth, or a younger sibling. It will keep them entertained for hours munching threw the rock hard bar, that’s if they don’t loose their teeth first. LOL

(+) Galaxy chocolate is as creamy as ever with the adition of delicious "Oreo" like cookie crunch! (-) Could have more cookie perhaps, for some it may be a little rich, dangerously moreish!
Gave a good rundown of what to find when you bite a Snickers bar. Loved the fun comment at the end. A great review.

Anyhow, a "snicker" is a cross between a giggle, a snort and a chuckle in the "laughter" genus - so I guess it does describe this chocolate bar that brings a chuckle!!! ~~(:-)
