Advantages: none Disadvantages: surftime option not available any more
...The best thing about Sniff Out, however, is the customer service. If you send an e-mail it is replied to almost immediately. Their helpline is also good, no 30 minute waits (like Freeserve) and calls are charged at local rates. All in all, I feel like Sniff Out value my custom, and I wish I'd left Freeserve sooner.
UPDATE 31/3/01

Advantages: Helplines at local rates. Cheaper calls during peak hours. Disadvantages: Does not support 128k ISDN
Whilst looking around the maze of ISPs and their offers I came across Sniffout.com and it's £9.99 per month (£3.99 from Sniffout and £5.99 BT Surftime). It gives you unlimited access in the evenings and weekends and if you are surfing during the day it gives you weekend rates i.e 1p per minutes during the day.

All in all evrything is excellent and I am extremely pleased with Sniffout.com and I have recommended it to my friends and family. ...

Advantages: cheap Disadvantages: difficult to connect, poor customer service
...them numerous e-mails.
Freeserve do give you an e-mail account but mine always seemed to crash whenever I tried to access it. Overall, I am not saying that Freeserve is necessarily a bad option for all people - it is cheap and seems to be actually quite good if you live in the right part of the UK.
I have now switched to SniffOut who charge exactly the same price for a better service AND actually answer your e-mails. When I phoned SniffOut up, a person answered the phone immediately and I could have laughed!...
