Mine came with the whole of the UK maps on a SD card, which was a major advantage for me, Previously I had to download maps from my pc to my Garmin V. You can buy a European card (which includes UK - but this is also expensive).
You can set places you go to often (home, work etc.) and other places you can find by postcode. If you don't know the full postcode, it will accept a part postcode. It also has a number of attractions already built in - which is very useful. There are very few buttons as most inputs are made via the touch screen. If you do not know a postcode, you can still use it to navigate, however the only way of inputting where you want to get to is to scroll around the map - this takes alot of time!
The speed camera locations are downloaded from the internet - you need to update regularly to keep pace with new camera locations. You either pay a monthly subscription (was around £5 a month) or a one off fee for life. I opted foe the second and have found no problems downloading and mostly the information is accurate.
The device comes with a suction windscreen mount. This is very good - it doesn not fall off when cornering or in hot weather. It also has a DC lead for re-charging the batteries. However, if the batteries are fully charged, I have found that I am able to do a 3 hour journey and use just over half the battery.
The only disadvantage is cost - but the thing has never got me lost and I use it for getting to obscure places with the forces - so well worth the money. It also saves arguments with the wife.
