It aslo picks up all fixed speed cameras and also handheld laser speed detector used by the police.
The only downside i can find is that it does pick up quite a few false alarms, but if you have the volume turned down it isnt that much of a distraction, and it will just cause you to slow down anyway, so its good in a way.
You can pay £100 for lifetime free updates, or £5 a month by direct debit,
Overall i would say it is a very attractive looking radar dectector, with great value for money (the cheapest GPS you can buy), and quite accurate most of the time

The Snooper S3 GPS, Laser and Radar speed camera detector is one of the only systems on the market to combine all three technologies.
In essence it detects: Gatso safety cameras, Specs camera systems, Truvelo cameras, Digital cameras, accident hotspots and Laser guns!
The database seems fairly extensive (certainly round Stafford), and is updated every other day, so less of a worry with new cameras going up and leaving ... ...UK speed camera database

I am not sure of the longevity of this product, as keeping your eyes on the road and your speed seem a more reliable option!
Fits easily in your pocket or bag at journeys end, and plugs straight into the cigarette lighter for charging.
It seems to me to have moments of incredible laziness, ...

Advantages: simple installation, easy to use, detects all speed cameras up to 2 miles away Disadvantages: bleeps an clicks are annoying
Last year in the United Kingdom 2.1 million people were caught travelling at excess speeds on the roads incurring 3 points on their driving licence and a £60 fine. I personally accounted for 2 of those offences counted above and was livid that each time I had been captured by static cameras located at the side of the road when driving in an area where I was unfamiliar with the layout of the area, the location of the cameras or the speed limit of the road. In the second instance I was on a country road that was classed as a 40 mile per hour area yet all of the similar roads approaching it were the national speed limit. Determined not to get caught again I bought a second hand SnooperS5-R from my brother in law, a device he had used without issue for 3 years. When originally purchased it cost £199.99, yet I managed with a sweet smile ...

Advantages: none Disadvantages: Cheap build, doesn't do the job, very annoying!
of Runcorn - a device which is supposedly the culmination of years of research and development. I had my doubts about its likely performance, as the few internet reviews etc that I could find seemed to rate it highly, but on digging a bit further, often seemed to come from sites that were affiliated/sponsored by the manufacturer. However, I decided to give it a shot, as surely any detector had to be better than none at all.
Halfords were selling them at £209.99, but they came down to £195 as they do price matching against competitors, so a deal was done.
Without trying to bore you with the technical details, the detector has 3 'logic' settings which filter out different unwanted signals that can give the driver false alerts. The expected performance of the SnooperS5-R is documented on many websites, but in reality, I found these to be vastly ...
