Towards the end it starts to pick up pace and all the events of earlier come together and build to one of the most satisfying endings I've ever read. As good as Terry Pratchett ... more

The book seems to lack direction for the most part drifting from event to event, but this doesn't matter because the indivdual events are told so excellently and are hugely funny. Towards the end it starts to pick up pace and all the events of earlier come together and build to one of the most satisfying endings I've ever read. As good as Terry Pratchett but with some real thought gone into the storyline aswell.

Just read this book and i couldn't put it down.
This is a book that has everything. You get the changing times in Brentford from the early 50's to the Millennium Party to end them all.
From the view of the author of the book he follows the life of a friend called doverston and the trouble that happens.
From exploding dogs to secret goverment conspiracys,
Highly recommended read if you need a good laugh.
Can drift a bit but well worth the time. ...
