I have used various Soap & Glory products in the past with varying results and hadn't found anything that had grabbed my attention enough to make me purchase it again....until now that is! This Sugar Scrub is truely fabulous!
I've got to admit that first and foremost it is the packaging that draws me towards this range, it's cool, it's funky, it's retro looking and it looks fab in your bathroom, but all that aside, I actually want a product that does what it says and that really works, and this does!
This scrub is part of Soap & Glory's Spa range and is £9.00 for a large 450ml tub, which seems quite expensive, but as you start to use it you realise that you only need a small amount and that it will actually last for quite a while as it is a product which you only need to use about 2-3 times a week, or (as the packaging says!) 4 times a week if you've ever been labelled "old lizard legs" An example of their quirky way with words!
The 4 main ingredients in this sugar scrub are Smashed Brown Sugar, Sweet Lime, Almond Oil and Macadamia Grains and all these combined create an effective and luxurious product. Dipping your fingers into the sugary gloop you can feel that the grains aren't so big that they would be too harsh and not too small that they would be of no use at all (like another body scrub I reviewed!), they really get down to business, you can really feel it giving your skin a good old scrub and you just know that it's getting rid of those dead skin cells with ease, but at the same time it is gentle and moisturising on your skin because it is mixed with the almond oil, this also means that your skin is strokeably soft when you get out of the bath and is not crying out for moisturiser straight away.
On removing the lid and the disc of blue plastic underneath that (which is persumably there to stop the scrub getting messy inside the lid) the first smell that wafts up at you is the smell of lime, which is gorgeous and zesty and makes you want to take a great big sniff of the scrub and inhale the beautiful scent! What some people might see as a downside is that the scent although beautiful in the tub doesn't linger on your skin, but I sometimes consider that a plus if I want to use a scented body lotion or perfume afterwards as I don't want to have too many scents confilcting with each other.
I'm actually liking this blue "Spa" packaging better than the original pink packaging, I think it looks alot more impressive, luxurious and also alot more thought seems to have been put into the product than some of their other scrubs of which there are about 4 or 5!
It might seem alot of outlay at the beginning, but in my opinion it is well worth it for a scrub that actually works, sure you can buy cheaper scrubs, but would they be as good?
A new favourite!
