Sugar Sugar

Soap and Glory is one of my favourite beauty ranges. I recently found myself with quite a lot of Boots Advantage points so I decided to treat myself to one of their products as some of their items can be a bit pricey. I had read a lot about the Soap and Glory Spa Sugar Crush so I decided to give that a try.

Sugar Crush is basically a big tub of body exfoliator/scrub intended to remove any scaliness on your skin as the product itself says.

Soap and Glory was created by Marcia Kilgore (who also created the Bliss range) back in 2006 so it hasn't been around for long but it sure has been a big hit. What I love about it is the quirky, funky packaging which to me is quite retro. It includes pictures of housewives from the 50's and 60's which give the range a very retro feel and also has a lot of tongue in cheek product names which make them really fun products in my opinion. I like the fact that on their website they put the phrase, "We believe that you shouldn't have to spend an arm and a leg just to moisturise one (or the other, or both)

You can find the range for sale at Boots and Harvey Nichols. I always tend to buy the products from Boots as they always have a great selection of products in my opinion and I can also collect points, a double bargain, or like I’ve said above use my points to buy the products.

Mostly the products come in a pink packaging but this Sugar Crush actually comes in a blue packaging. The top of the tub has a screw on lid which makes getting into the product very easy. The ingredients in this scrub are brown sugar, lime, almond oil and macadamia. In fact, I would say that the scrub basically looks like a brown sugar paste. It has the same colour and consistency. Once you scoop out a bit of the scrub you can see that it’s got lots of elements to it and quite a rough feel which is good because this is what makes it work so well.

The lime is what gives it it’s delightful smell although I think the almond and macadamia also work to tone down the lime so it’s not too citrusy. It’s almost good enough to eat!

Soap and Glory recommend that you use this product in the shower once, twice or three times a week depending on the level of scaliness you want to eradicate! They even go so far as to say even four times if you’ve ever been called “old lizard legs.” This is another example of their quirky wording and marketing on their products. The scrub leaves my skin feeling really smooth and lovely. The almond oil makes it really smooth too and so this is definitely a product I will continue to use. The tub is quite big, 450ml and a little goes a long way so this will definitely last a long time.

A tub from Boots costs £9. If you want to find out more on all the products they have then visit their website at www.soapandglorycosmetics.com.

Sounds lovely, but not cheap. Depending on how long it lasts I suppose it could be good value anyhow x
