This book is brilliant if you want a excellent and comprehensive book on an introduction to social psychology. I first used this book to complete a project on social beliefs and I found it to be very detailed and it also has great pictures to accompany the text that is written in this book. This book can be used as a textbook, for courses like GCSE or A Level psychology or GNVQ in health and social care. (I personally used it for both, I have also used this book for the HND course that I am presently on). I think this book could also be used for people/ students who want a more detailed introduction into social psychology.

Introduction to social psychology
I personally think that this is a detailed and comprehensive introduction to the subject of social psychology. This chapter includes subjects like social psychology and human values, common sense, and also how do we do social psychology.
The self in a social world
This section of the book gives a detailed introduction to the self in a social world. This section of the book includes self concept, self control, self serving bias and also self presentation.
Social beliefs and judgment
This section of the book includes topics like do attitudes determine behavior, does behavior determine attitudes and also why do actions affect attitudes. This section of the book is very detailed.
Genes, culture and gender
This section of the book is just as detailed as the other chapters in this book. It includes human nature, culture and gender and evolution. This is a few of many subjects covered in this section of this book.
Conformity
This section of this book covers classic studies, when and how people conform and social pressure.
Persuasion / Group influence This section of the book covers the elements of persuasion and it gives case studies that include persuasion. In this section of this book what is a group, social facilitation etc.
Prejudice
This section of the book comes under the heading of social relations. This subject on prejudice is very detailed and it contains the subjects of social sources of prejudice and cognitive sources of prejudice.
Aggression
This section of this book is called aggression, hurting others. This section of the book includes theories of aggression, influences on aggression and reducing aggression. This section of the group is very detailed.
Attraction
This section of this book contains subjects such as, friendships, love and also relationships.
Altruism
This section of the book is called altruism, helping others. Topics in this section of the book are, why do we help?, whom do we help and also when will we help?
Conflict
I personally think that this section of the book is the most detailed. It contains subjects such as conflict and peacemaking.
At the beginning and end of this book there is an overview of what is being said and what has been said. Throughout this book there are case studies, and sections where they show you they put certain parts of social psychology into practice. There are excellent diagrams and pictures throughout this book to illustrate points.
