Manufacturer's product description
The CFSC 5M will turn your Pocket PC into an advanced mobile bar code scanner. Socket's bar code scanning brings a new level of convenience and portability to mobile data collection by combining Socket's Mobility Friendly CompactFlash technology with a revolutionary laser scanner from Symbol Technologies. Just plug the card into your Windows Powered Pocket PC, launch Socket's SocketScan keyboard emulation software, and read bar code data into any Windows program. Fuzzy logic technology enables the reading of damaged or poorly printed bar codes. Bar code scanning is the most efficient way to enter data into a computer. If the data to be entered is bar coded, using a laser scanner is 50 times faster and 10, 000 times more accurate than manual data entry. And it only takes one hand!
Advantages: Compact and Does what is is designed to do, good online support Disadvantages: Can be tricky to use with Archos Media Players
...The arcos 4 in 1 Compactflash adaptor enables you to transfer jpeg images from Xd. Memory stick, Scan disk and Multimedia cards to a CompactFlash compatible source.
There isn't a lot to say about such a device, as it is relatively simple and straightforward to use.
The card adaptor measured 600mm x 400mm and is a compact design with no wasted space or fancy patterns. It is designed to be a functional device and so not a lot of time was put into the design of it. However you wouldn't buy it for its aesthetics, you would buy it because it is made by Archos, which is a technology company that is well recognised and has an international reputation for quality. This fact is well advertised on the product as a bright red Archos label takes half of the top face.
The card adaptor performs its functionality seamlessly when used with other...

Advantages: Extensive array of features Disadvantages: Memory-hungry applications
...just that, however, had I been paying for the unit, I would have regarded the £300 or so for the unit very well spent. My wife and I have used it to transfer images from CompactFlashcards (as there are sockets in the front of the unit to accept various removable media) and the shots end up transported to our PC. We can edit them, save them and eventually, post tarting-up and painting Groucho moustaches on unwitting victims' fizzogs, for example, print the images out. I use it to print or copy documents which can be scanned quickly and easily. The software is quite intuitive, but the terms are not really intuitive enough for the non-IT user. I've not used any Optical Character Recognition as I think it's an abject waste of time. My father has tried it on his machine and spent the evening going through correcting the assumptions. A labour...

Advantages: Price, Multifunction, Disadvantages: No USB cable included, Settings hard to navigate under Vista, Ink not cheap
...Purchased on Ebay for a total of £39.99. Yet again I am keeping my entire PC setup as Dell braded. I purchased this as I needed a replacement printer for my Ageing Epson R200 inkjet, also I needed a Scanner. So far I have fond it to be vry quick at printing both photo\'s and documents. Hwever Photo scanning does not appear to be that great, but that could be down to me as navigateing the setting under Windows for the scanner software on Vista is quite a chore. It does boast some quite good specs however, including Print, scan, copy, PC fax, 4800 x 1200 dpi, Standalone Functionality for scanning and Photo Printing, memory card slots for CompactFlash Type I & II, Microdrive, MultiMedia Card (MMC), Secure Digital (SD), Memory Stick (MS), xD-Picture Card and support for PictBridge Via a slot on the front....

Well basically I bought this and think it is a total waste of money. I paid £99 for this item and thought it would be worth it, and would save a lot in the long run as I wouldn't need any other hair removal products.
The instructions were easy enough... more
