...I bought myself this to scan various things (old photos, documents and some sheet music) and this does the job pretty well. It was a bit on the expensive side but I needed something that would give me good quality and I could trust that it would work well so I went for HP as they are well known for good quality products.

...Balls are back! and there is far less hand gymnastics required with this excellent mouse without a tail!
I bought this device about 3 months ago and will never look back! it has served me well and will continue to serve me well for the foreseeable future...
when i first recieved this mouse, it was packaged well and came with a nice user friendly set up, drivers and sofware... it did take me a few hours to get used to not moving my hand all about the place, and for a split second was getting confused as to why the cursor wasnt moving when i moved the mouse! but it didnt take long to get used to it at all, and is a lot easier to use than the standard arm flailing of a regular mouse!
as you can see from the picture, the mouse wheel is manipulated by the thumb, which is a brilliant idea, and one of those things that should have been...

...your PC's mouse and keyboard sockets (USB or PS/2) and power up.
The keyboard and mouse will now work in their basic modes but to get the funky stuff such as programable keys and other twiddly bits, you need to install the driver CD. This was painless too and Logitech are known to upgrade their drivers regularly so keep an eye out for new versions although I'd also recommend holding back a few days if anything new does appear as some updates have proved a tad buggy. Once it's clear the new versions work OK, you can go ahead and install. Anyway, I digress...
Initial impressions were OK. The mouse is a bit dull, it works well enough but feels rather plasticky and wasn't the best fit in the palm of my hand. I haven't got the biggest hands in the world but it still felt too small compared to my old mouse. I do know a couple of other people...
