Microsoft C# Step by Step Advantages: Plenty of great code examples plus visual studio Disadvantages: Can be difficult to follow I bought this book for £20.29 from Amazon it was reduced thanks to the fact the new version of Visual Studio is out. The book is split into several sections first taking you through from the classic hello world example writing a very basic program. Then taking the reader though a run down of the langauge, later on it covers a number of topics like working with window applications, managing data and building web applications. Personally I found ... ...level and the end chapters to be very taxing. Included with the book is a copy of visual studio standard with # enabled also a collection of msdn articals and the example chapters on cd. Expert Users W2k Book Advantages: Very detailed and well written Disadvantages: Very large book....and expensive ...written. It is written by Microsoft Writers Craig Stinson and Carl Siechert which have written many Microsoft Book which are equally excellent. The book helps Power Users to do advanced tasks by showing step-to-step guides on how to do things like: - Managing Users and Groups - Using Group Policy - Customizing User Work Environments - Managing Services - Administering Remote Service and many other things that Windows 2000 has to offer. But this book would be a good study guide for those people studying for Microsoft Windows 2000 exams. A reminder is that this book is for WIndows 2000 Professional and not for any Server Edition of 2000. Cave digbium Advantages: A good way to learn Latin Disadvantages: Home learning is always more difficult ...most logical option was the Cambridge Latin Course, they do offer email coaching, which is a great idea but wasn't suitable for the three of us to learn so I opted for the E-learning resource, this is a package that is to be used in conjunction with the book. The DVD was £46.94 which I bought directly from Cambridge university press, the website www.cambridgescp.com gives a great overview, including a demo of this particular package. The textbook ... ...as W. The Cambridge Latin course itself offers 5 books, the first 2 currently have the E-learning option available. Book 1 covers life in Pompeii, Book 2 explores two roman provinces, Britain and Egypt, Book 3 is back in Britain following the life of Quintus (Caecilius's son) Book 4 and 5 are finally Rome.
