Quick review of Sonic the Hedgehog (PS3)
Not a bad game, long loading times do take the fun out of the game though it must be said, graphics are okay on a HDTV.
Playability is average, it is definitely not as fun as the original mega drive titles were if you are a sonic fan than it is worth adding to your collection however don't expect too much. ...

Quick review of Sonic the Hedgehog (PS3)
As always, all Sonic games rock. One of the best titles for the ps3 by far. Gameplay is addictive and the graphics are out of this world. ...

Advantages: It could keep a young child entertained, Around £20 -£30 trade in Disadvantages: Glitchs, Television specifications, loading times, More new characters
...Over the years weve seen sonic gradually become incredibly different, and it feels like Sega is trying to stretch him out further. For kids around 12 then yes it may keep them well entertained but if you intend to buy this for you child then please take note:
* the game doesnt run so smoothly on an old 50 Hz Television, you will find sequences incredibly choppy unless you have a 60hz framerate tv or a HD TV. * The loading time is awful, sometimes ... ...a stage. * Since the port from the xbox 360 there are still glitchs in the game which can sometimes be tedious and frustrating.
So if you choose to buy this make sure you have a decent television but if your eager to try it i would just recommend renting it. ...

Advantages: Continues the Sonic franchise forwards Disadvantages: A broken physics engine mars gameplay
Sonic the Hedgehog for Next Gen cosoles was a broken game however there is even more reason to avoid the Playstation 3 version over the XBox 360 version - mainly the inability of the game to play its lush FMV cutscenes on PAL Region 2 machines.
Unfortunately there are so many things unfinished or broken, that it's difficult to pinpoint exactly where the publishers went wrong. For a start it has abysmal loading times, a truncated, recycled and nonsensical ... ...promised a back to basics Sonic game, but it fails to deliver at almost every turn. Unfortunately the game has been released before being finished, it's only half built in some areas.
To begin with Sonic is slower than normal, he's been slapped onto a realistic physics engine and that makes acceleration either unbearably. Unfortunately when he does get up to speed he's unwieldy, awkward to control and too eager too shoot off in the wrong direction.

Advantages: ermm.. follows the book a little Disadvantages: bad gameplay, poor graphics, bad camera/control
is also compass work where you have to find what everyone else is up to Playing Lorek is very easy to get the hang of, your mostly defending from enemies, and slashing them with your bare hands.
The graphics look a bit dull, especially from SEGA, which have once again messed up another game like Sonic the Hedgehog on 306 or PS3. Sound wise you mostly hear the same music and same speeches from the characters which is annoying.
4/10 ...
Advantages: takes you back to childhood, loads of games to choose Disadvantages: no Streets of Rage game
of as well like Altered Beast. Controls feel the same as what they would on a Mega Drive controller but on PS2.
Graphics and Sound= Just the same as back in the day, still in 2D form, before they turn terrible in 3D and being turned into the bad quality that you see in Sonic the Hedgehog on PS3. All the games feel lighter and brighter on PS2 disc. If you have played most of these titles you'll still be hearing a lot of great music from all Mega Drive games such as Green Hill zone from Sonic 1 or Echo the Dolphin, music or Ristar Music.
Overall= From remembering my childhood years playing Mega Drive games in front of the TV, still feel like a kid playing them. If you never owned or played any of these games as a kid in the old days then you'll feel like a loser instead of playing next generation games on your 360 or PS3. ...
Advantages: Speed and Pace / Original / Addictive and Highly Entertaining Disadvantages: Some may find Outdated and lacking detail
pick up the controller and get stick in. Some gamers may find it outdated or simply enjoy something more detailed story wise, but there is no doubt that it is most definitely fun to play. Sonic The Hedgehog is included on the Ultimate Sega Mega Drive Collection available for PS3 and Xbox 360. ...
