Shinny smiles with Sonicare

Advantages: Clean teeth
Disadvantages: Pricey

Sonicare HX6730 is, in my opinion,an excellent bit of kit! I used to think I was cleaning my teeth adequately using a 'manual' toothbrush and my breath always seemed fresh, teeth white etc, until I was bought the Sonicare HX6730. Everytime I use it, it feels like I've just been to the dentist's for a clean and polish. If you have never used an electric toothbrush before, you will find it a little noisey to begin with, but this is something that you soon get used to after the first few brushes. Its great, if like me, you brush your teeth too hard! The dentist suggested I get a brush like this, as it would prevent me from brushing too hard and rubbing my gums away... scary thought. Simply glide the toothbrush over your teeth and let it do the rest for you. Although brushes like this aren't cheap (but there are brushes alot more ...

• Sonicare Elite

Advantages: Great job, ergonomic design, easy to use
Disadvantages: Expensive replacement heads

to be very good - this is mainly because Sonicare recommend that you keep the Sonicare in the charger when it's not in use as this helps to maintain a full battery. It takes 24 hours to fully charge the battery but once it is full you can get approximately '2 weeks of typical use' - this means 2 minutes of brushing twice a day - out of it. When my dad goes away he takes the Sonicare with him (leaving me with my manual toothbrush :( ) and he has easily managed two weeks without taking the charger with him. This toothbrush is so easy to use - perhaps a little too easy - it's quite astonishing that all you have to do is hold it in the right place and it's virtually guaranteed to do a better job than you could with your manual toothbrush. Infact the Sonicare will brush 100 times faster than you can manually!! Now that's fast ...

Review of Sonicare HX7551/02

Get a Sonicare Electric Toothbrush in a rush!!

Advantages: Easy to use, excellent results
Disadvantages: Watch out for toothpaste spatters and dribbling...

feeling subsided the more I used the brush and any strange sensations were far overridden by the fantastic results the brush gave. My teeth feel sparklingly clean all day, so much so that they feel like they don't need a clean at bedtime (but of course they do). The Sonicare HX5451 has a 4 x 30 second programme where the brush gives a small bleep and pauses momentarily so you can move the brush to the next quadrant in your mouth. This is intended for you to give your mouth an even cleaning, as we all tend to miss certain key areas when brushing our teeth. I have to say that after the initial novelty of going along with this, I now move the brush aorund my mouth throughout the time period and ignore then alarm. I also tend to brush for 4 minutes rather than 2 as I find it leaves my mouth feeling much cleaner. After only a couple ...
