...friends and dentist mentioned the Sonicare range of powered toothbrushes - something I had not been keen on using. I opted for the HX7351 for £79.99 from Amazon - it has since come down in price by £5 and can be found with some searching for £65 at other online stores.

Oral hygiene is a must for all in my opinion and I find that due to my excessive consumption of coffee and demon weed habit my teeth take a considerable battering on a daily basis and it got to the stage where brushing my teeth with a regular manual toothbrush and specialist toothpastes wasn't making any difference to the stains that had started to build up on the back of my bottom front teeth.

What do you get for that much of your hard earned cash? Well, not a lot to be honest. You get the toothbrush - one removable brush head - a charger base - a brush head holder and a travel case.
The handle is quite bulky - but tapered with a rubbery surface which makes it easy to hold onto as it vibrates vigorously in your hand - it also contains a rechargeable battery unit that lasts normally for around 2 weeks. I have attached a picture as trying to describe it is tricky. The brush heads are small - about 30% smaller than most manual toothbrushes and the bristles are rigid but at the same time very soft - they don't take the surface off your gums when you use it!
Safety wise the unit cuts the power every two minutes - I have found this a bit annoying as I spend usually 5 minutes brushing and have to keep turning it back on. It isn't a fault - more of a gripe.
Overall I like the toothbrush - I have noticed that using it removes more stains from my teeth and this had lead to less frequent visits to the dental hygienist which in turns saves me a little cash which is good as the brush heads last only 6-8 weeks and replacing them costs something equivalent to the third world debt. 2 replacement brush heads cost in the region of £20 so this is one major negative with the product.
It works and does its job very well but to actually buy the unit and buy replacement brush heads is way to expensive and knowing what I know now I would have opted for a cheaper model - or indeed one that provided cheaper spare heads and because of the expense involved I can only rate this product as average.
Advantages: Extremly effective in removing plaque, whitens teeth noticably, a big help in reducing dental problems. Disadvantages: power display too rudimentary, noisy, expensive head replacement which is ESSENTIAL every three months.
I read about the Sonicare toothbrush whilst waiting for a nice expensive course of dental treatment but at about £100, considered it too expensive-this was the best price i had seen it anywhere, at Apollo 2000 in Wolverhampton.
So when a boxed and still sealed 'as new' one arrived at my local branch of Cash Converters for £30, it was too good to miss and I purchased it.
Well, after completing the simple assembly of screwing the head into the body ... ...purchase and use of a Sonicare has made a major contribution to both the appearance and condition of my teeth.
It may be expensive in initial cost and replacement heads but it's phenomenally effective and will pay for itself with lower costs at the Dentist.
Even at £100 I cannot recommend this highly enough-at £30 I got a STEAL! ...

I've always maintained a good oral hygiene regime and have never had any major issues with my teeth. Having said that, I also felt that there was always room for improvement added to the fact I'm a sucker for gadgets… I decided to buy a Sonicare toothbrush! I've now been using my Sonicare for approx 2 years and haven't looked back since. Even my ...

I saw the electric toothbrush on one of my visits to the dentist, since I had a problem with my teeth I decided to buy it although its price was high in the £90 range. This included two brush heads, charger base and a carry container for the toothbrush. The brushing time is about two minutes before it stops of which you can switch on again if you feel your teeth are not clean but usually this is not necessary because it is really powerful. Every ... ...that I never used to have using my other toothbrush and it is more effective in reducing plaque. People tell me that my teeth are whiter; I have been using it for a couple years? It is easy to operate and has rubber handle for grip. The only other thing is you need to clean the toothbrush itself regularly because moisture seeps through the joins between the brush head and the battery over time. The replacement brush heads are also expensive. I have ...

...anyone. I first bought a sonicare toothbrush in 2004 and then upgraded to this model in early 2007. I have been so impressed; to the point where I actively recommended it to friends.
Firstly, brushing with this toothbrush leaves your teeth feeling so clean, smooth and polished. You can really feel the deeper clean around the backs of your front teeth, which I think is the most common place for plaque and tartar build-up. When you first start using ... ...the dental hygenist for a clean-up
Since it gives a deeper and more powerful brush - powerful but not aggressive - it also leaves your gums feeling massaged and healthier too.
Thirdly, it does begin to make your teeth look a shade whiter and brighter. I mean, it's not going to make your teeth white-white like bleaching would, but for a toothbrush to achieve a touch of chemical-free whitening I think this is impressive.
The battery life is good. ...
