I read about the Sonicare toothbrush whilst waiting for a nice expensive course of dental treatment but at about £100, considered it too expensive-this was the best price i had seen it anywhere, at Apollo 2000 in Wolverhampton.
So when a boxed and still sealed 'as new' one arrived at my local branch of Cash Converters for £30, it was too good to miss and I purchased it.
Well, after completing the simple assembly of screwing the head into the body and placing the body into the charger, I waited the recommended 24 hrs to charge before use and then squirted a nice layer of Colgate Total toothpase onto the head, placed on my teeth and turned on.
A notciable buzz started as the brush started it work of getting past all the plaque, tartar and stains on my negleted teeth. Two minutes later and what a job! My teeth felt as clean as a dentist's clean, scale and polish. in use I could see the stains mixed with the toothpaste froth running down my teeth. A bit like watching dirt come off a dirty car in a carwash-it really is that dramatic. Some may wonder what all the fuss is about-my advice is you won't know until you've used it.
After about two weeks use,my teeth have become noticably whiter, the gum disase I suffer from has improved and I suffer less these days from dental problems.
There are some drawbacks. It is expensive at about £100(In Comet, Currys and possibly your local Dentist), you will certainly hear it in operation, the power diplay is too imprecise in other words the brush will operate as normal then suddeny cut out with very little warning and head replacement is ESSENTIAL every three months (after that it loses effectivness rapidly) and in my opinion expensive at £15 per throw (at Boots).
Well nothing is perfect but overall, I feel that purchase and use of a Sonicare has made a major contribution to both the appearance and condition of my teeth.
It may be expensive in initial cost and replacement heads but it's phenomenally effective and will pay for itself with lower costs at the Dentist.
Even at £100 I cannot recommend this highly enough-at £30 I got a STEAL!
